The BackBlast:
Intro: Explain the rules. Ultimate Football rules. First 30 minutes, PAX only use non-dominant arm. Next 15 minutes, both arms in but penalty of 3 burpees if dropped ball. Last 15 minutes, run after catch, two hand tag.
Warm-o-Rama: SSH-15, Weed Pickers-10
The Thang: The rain was sprinkling when we started, but the field was nothing but mud. Cleats or no cleats, balance was a challenge. The good guys, the pennies jumped out to a quick 6-2 lead, despite Waffle Cone, the MVP, defending passes all over the place. The highlight of the non-dominant arm session was seeing Garfield throw the football like a model posing on a runway. During the second session, the good guys continued their dominance pushing the lead to 9-3, although we did see a sets of penalty burpees by Scamper. And then the comeback began. The bad guys reeled off 6 straight scores to tie it up. The trouble began when the before mentioned Scamper said, “Just catch the ball” and then proceeded to drop the very next pass. Although the score was tied, Garfield vehemently tried to assert that they were up one, even though YHC had shouted out the score each time. In a blatant act of rage for disagreeing with him, Garfield shoulder checked YHC on crossing route coming across the middle. He had good examples of this to defend him as both Chancellor and Westside laid the wood on a few PAX members during this game. As time began to wind down, it looked like the good guys would pull it out, but the non-pennies scored right before time ended. And for a league first I believe, the score ended tied, 10-10.
COT: Waffle Cone is 90% sure of a new position. G-String’s friends who lost their home in a fire a getting their insurance check and will began the process of getting back to some sort of normalcy.
Naked Man Moleskin: Rain and mud in our life sometimes makes it difficult. And when it seems like it can’t get any more challenging, we lose an arm (lose a job, health issues, marital woes). But we are not alone, there are plenty of brothers nearby that are there to help us up, lend a hand, or have been through the same struggle before and can come alongside you.
