It’s a closely held secret that YHC got his name from his other hobby, ballroom dancing. So was born the idea of a dance school. The first lesson: The Foxtrot. The Foxtrot is a “traveling” dance meaning you can cover some serious ground on the dance floor or … your local AO.
WARM-O-RAMA: Mosey to the lower lot for a headcount and to practice the F3 introduction. The PAX did SSH (20), Weed Pickers (15) and Windmills (15), and some copperhead squats, all in cadence.
Mosey to the bus lanes for an explanation of the workout, an escalator based on the seven letters in Foxtrot. YHC found seven exercises the Exicon that start with those letters and were easy on the shoulders. The letters and counts:
F: Flutter Kicks (10)
O: Overhead Presses (20)
X: X-factors (30)
T: Tennessee Rocking Chairs (40)
R: Rosalitas (50)
O: Outlaws (60) 30 L/30 R
T: Twinkle Toes (70)
The rules are simple, complete the first exercise and run a lap. Plank/air chair for the six to keep the PAX together after each lap. Add the next exercise to the previous one(s), run a little more.
The mumblechatter: Started early when the PAX pointed out that X-factors and TN Rocking Chairs had local nicknames. Around the time of those same-said TN Rocking Chairs, some PAX claimed they had no rhythm for dancing, let alone for that particular exercise.
YHC did call an audible along the way changing the count from Kodiak to single and skipping the last lap so everyone could enjoy the Twinkle Toes (calf raises while doing an Al Gore). Everyone passed the foxtrot lesson though and we moseyed back to the Flag for some Mary (Mountain Climbers, copperhead Merkins and Star Jumps).
Circle of Trust:
Fleetwood was 6th man and he shared a powerful teaching that we are vessels and we need to work to empty ourselves to make room for God. He was more eloquent but your get the drift. Prayers both spoken and unspoken were sent to be answered.
Naked Man Moleskin:
I am grateful to the men of The Lions Den for pushing me to get back out in the gloom and to Q this beatdown. Clipboards and whistles were mentioned as aides but if I said if I heard the music I would want to dance, and I did. I have really missed the 1st F during recovery and thank all the PAX across F3 that have reached out to me. SYITG soon.
