It was a cool, crisp morning, with breeze that was just right to get in a 45 minute run in the gloom. We started at Canyons Burgers and headed north on Main Street, waiving at each car passing by, as well as a few other runners we saw……The Situation flexed at each person we passed, but they did not see him.
As we made our first turn into a neighborhood, some pax asked why it was called the “turkey foot”. They soon found out as we headed down and up our first of 3 steep climbs…..2 in the hood of Hames Rd, followed by 1 in the Woodstock Knoll subdivision. When all said and done, and 5 miles later, we had ourselves a pretty good picture of a turkey foot.
There were some small groups of 2-3 of the turkeys, I mean pax, that got away and veered of course. While they claimed they got lost, it was overheard that they only wanted to do 2 of the 3 hills. But that is OK, we all need to modify at times and it’s about getting stronger each and every day.
