After being Voluntold that I was the Q today, I decided to go to my fun bag and recycle an old beat down that nobody liked. However, I think today’s pax had a different perspective than the last group. Perhaps it was my music choice and the fact that we all got to stay together, we didn’t have to count, and Dig-Em and Lizard King reunited their love for each other as the talked from the start of the Warm-o-rama to the end. But alas, I am getting ahead of myself.
It all began with Happy E coming down with a sinus infection. (Sorry brother! I hope you feel better soon!). Vanilli, mentioned that I would love to Q this morning and I didn’t want to shy away from the challenge.
I was 10 minutes for my own pre-run and ran into Detention with his faithful companion, Oso. The two of them were crushing it until I came along and slowed them down.
At my 5:30 am, we started our mosey around the parking lot and then went into the 5 Core Principles. Today was my lucky day as we had an FNG join us as a result of my invitation. Yes! Another sad clown rescued into the gloom with all of jokers!
We did the usual suspects with a twist: SSH, Hillbillies, Weed Pickers and Merkins – on my down, and then you say up. Fortunately, some were smart enough to count for us. 🙂
The Thang this morning was a Tabata Work out. 5 Sets of exercises for 45 seconds with a 15 second rest. After 5 sets, we ran to the wall and back. The exercises were as follows:
American Hammers, Nipple Scraping Merkins (Inclined Merkins), Gas Pumps, E2K’s, Lunges.
Burpees, Overhead Press with a coupon, Squats w/ coupon, Merkins, Sweet Angels (I think that is supposed to be Sweat Angels…these are like snow angels, but you have to keep your feet and hands 6 inches off the ground).
American Hammers, Derkins, Monkey Humpers, E2K, Lunges
Then we ran to the wall where we did a wall sit for 30 seconds and Balls to the Wall for 30 seconds.
Then we ran back and finished out with some Mary – American Hammers, Leg Lifts, Flutter Kicks, Freddie Mercuries and then time expired.
We concluded with our Circle of Trust. Gut Check was our 6 Man. He asked for prayers for his foot (Plantar Fasciitis) and for he and his wife as their oldest goes off to college at KSU. Also prayers for LK’s daughter and ex-wife. We welcomed Fawlty Towers to our group and closed with prayers.
