This was my VQ. Man, I caught hell for starting the Mosey 1 minute early (and then forgetting the Warms Ups). Thankfully there were 12 outspoken guys there to loudly remind me. They don’t miss a thing! Not a shy one in the bunch. Weedpickers, Imperial Walkers, Merkins, Plankjacks and Side Straddle Hops warmed us up. Then 11’s — Merkins at the bottom of the hill and SSHs at the top. Mumblechatter was at a minimum during the 11’s. Planked and Dealer’s Choice while waiting on the 6. Never seen a hands-free plank before, and guess I never will! Then we Mosied to hear an excellent, thoughtful playlist and do BLIMPS (5 Burpees, Lap, 10 Lunges, Lap, 15 IWs, Lap, 20 Merkins, lap, 25 Plankjacks Lap to 30 Squats. This was in honor of one of F3 Cherokee founders, @babyface, who did a visiting Q a few weeks ago at Lion’s Den and introduced me to BLIMPS. Some guys ran an even longer lap route — impressive and inspiring. A few PAX, Backdraft and Mall Cop among them, completed at least one BLIMP before time was up.
Backdraft was 6th Man in COT, and told us to remember to put our families first before all here on Earth. In my Q talk, I reminded all to look for others who need help because God has made us strong, confident and capable for a reason (not just to admire our cut frames in the bathroom mirror! You’ll get there Swap. Keep running.) We prayed for McDreamy’s boy (Tyler), Ice T and family, Backdraft for strength to face challenges and in general for all to have gratitude to God for all his gifts, his love and his mercy.
Lion’s Den PAX’er have a decision to make: Backdraft has the Q at CatBox Saturday (6:30am, I think), and Swap has it at Woodshed at 7am. Hmmmm. I wonder which will be tougher? The drive to Hobgood might be worth it. Lots of Weedpickers, very few Burpees, maybe?
Have a strong day men!!!!
