Today we got stronger for those people in our lives who need us to be stronger.
Warmups. Abuse began when Q inadvertently said “Cotton Head Merkins” rather than “Copperhead Merkins.” #brutal. Ah, it was good to be back at the Lion’s Den, catching hell and ratcheting up the bloodpressure.
As complaints subsided, we mosied and did DORA 1-2-3s. 100 Merkins, 200 LBCs and 300 Squats, by pairing up, and while one guy ran the circuit, the other did as many as he could, then they flapjacked, and so on. Rugburn had apparently never done squats because he said there were too many and they hurt. Typical FNG. BTW, watch Ringpop next time he does squats. It’s pretty funny; they’re more like little bows, not squats.
Then a string-of-pearls-style mosey to do ascender BLIMPS (Burpies, Lunges, Imp Walkers, Plankjacks and Squats) with a run between. A little Mary at the end with the classic Backdraft count of “Uh-wuh, Tuh, Eee… Uh-wuh, Tuh, Eee…. Uh-wuh, Tuh, Eee…” I think he is saying “One, two, three” but not sure. We’ve learned to just let Backdraft be Backdraft.
Mosie to the flag for some American Hammers, and … “Time.”
We prayed for Izzie, Rug’s scanner, LC, Chicken Fried’s friend’s family and for Chicken Fried, and for my wife Joanie’s knee surgery on Monday. And to make good choices all day, every day.

Like Hartford said, if I wasn’t doing F3, life would be different and not in a good way. Thank God for all you crazy dudes who wake up in the gloom and get stronger for those in their lives who need them to be strong.
