WARMUP: Mosey around the parking lot. SSHs, Weed Pickers, Windmills, Good Mornings.

We briefly discussed Disruption as a leader and I asked everyone to think about how they create disruption to influence action in those that follow them.

THE THANG: A trio of old school Kodiak exercises:
1. Route 66 with Merkins
2. Partner Bus lanes – one does SSHs while the other ran to a lane and did that number of Big Boy Sit-ups. Switching off each PAX did every lane starting at 15 and working down.
3. Table for Two – a Dora with 50 step ups, 100 incline Merkins and 150 dips, one partner ran to the end of the bus lanes while the other did the exercises, switching off cumulatively.

We started off with a simple Route 66 that had Merkins at each light poll. Apparently that was too complicated of instructions for some because they did burpees instead and got behind. Hey, good on them for doing the extra work.

Next was the partner bus lanes. Thank goodness Gandhi had a speaker otherwise there wouldn’t have been any music. Had the Q posted at Kodiak at all in the past year he’d have known the construction workers parked in the back at the bus lanes. As a result, the PAX all played frogger during the BD.

The final segment was a Dora in the courtyard. We had just enough time to get through the first movements before we heading back to the flag. To add insult to injury the Q didn’t leave enough time to get back and we finished a minute late. To top it all off the Q didn’t appoint anyone to be the coffee Q, which left Mickey feeling visibly disappointed.

Decent BD, but the Q missed some critical points. Good thing he isn’t in charge of anything else.

A leader is a person who can influence people to do things that they would not have done otherwise. Put another way, but for the influence of the leader, the things done by his followers would not happen. The leader is the agent, the impetus and the proximate cause of his followers’ movement toward the doing of those specific things that he identifies as advantageous. Without him, they would remain static and focused on maintaining the status quo. In the heart of man inertia will reign, absent a Disruption.
