No time for music today – it’s training day!  (this has nothing to do with YHC leaving my speaker at home in the garage)

Quick mosey over to the southeast parking lot for a little Warm-a-rama:

  • 20 SSHS
  • 10 Slow, Focus on Form Mountain Climbers
  • Sun gods IN CADENCE!  (Honestly, why does anyone ever do sun gods OYO?  It’s clearly an exercise that was meant to be done in cadence and you’re just lazy if you don’t count the cadence for everyone the next time you Q).
  • Michael Phelps

We were in the totally wrong area of the campus for the Thang, so we did a little 1 mile Bataan Death March (Indian run where the PAX at the back drops and does some burpees before sprinting to the front of the line) to get where we needed to be.

The Thang – Triple Nickel, DORA style

One PAX runs to the top of the hill and does 5 burpees, then runs down the hill and does 5 burpees.  Their partner starts working their way through the Core Board (100 reps of each exercise):

  • Boxcutters
  • Big Boys
  • Heels to Heaven
  • American Hammers
  • Mountain Climbers
  • LBCs

Rinse and Repeat for 5 rounds

YHC called all PAX in with just enough time to run back to the flag…  the long way…  up the hill again.  I mean, if the hill is there God must have intended for us to use it (especially since we’re on a church campus).  Pretty sure Doughboy was back at the flag getting some T Bombs in without us when we got back and he’s been faking his hatred of them for months now.

Naked Moleskine:  I really love the men and the culture of this AO – still feel like we owe a huge debt to our brothers over at The Apex for showing Viceroy and YHC how it’s done before freeing us to lead here at The Colosseum.  I’ve had some tough times recently and can’t say “thank you” enough to the men of The Colosseum for reaching out and lifting me up in their prayers.
