The Thang:
The morning kicked off with a stronger than expected showing for a Thursday Paragon and the PAX was ready to tackle what HF was going to throw at them which turned out to be a beatdown packed with hills, benches, stairs, the football field and the track. As the PAX gathered, the Q could sense the anticipation (or maybe it was dread) in the air.
Warm-Up:
The Q called for a quick warm-up at the top of the parking lot stairs, featuring SSH, Hillbillies, arm circles and some Merkins to get the blood pumping. Already, a mumblechatter could be heard from the PAX about proper cadence and the principles of F3, but the Q knew they were just getting started. After a solid warm-up, it was time for the main event.
Part 1: Hill Sprints & Strength Circuit
The PAX eyed the hill, some with confidence, others with quiet resignation. 5 rounds of hill sprints were on the menu, with each sprint topped off by various exercises like Merkins, Squats, and the fan-favorite Burpees. By Round 3, most of the PAX were questioning their life choices, but the group pushed each other through, hitting the top of that hill like a pack of mountain goats.
With legs burning and lungs gasping, the PAX planked for the Six after each round, showing strong camaraderie. Once the hill was conquered, they moseyed over to the benches for the next part of the beatdown.
Part 2: Bench Circuit
The benches became the PAX’s next battleground, where they knocked out Step-Ups, Dips, Decline Merkins, Box Jumps, and Leg Raises. The highlight here was watching Ma Bell showing off his box jump and counting skills. With a couple of rounds of this circuit, the PAX realized that their legs and upper bodies would not get off easy today.
Part 3: Football field shuffle
We headed down to the football field and started in the end zone with some suicides. The PAX was instructed to do 10, 4-count LBCs every 20 yards and come back to the end zone each time to do a Burpee. This exercise proved to be difficult mentally for both Westside and Baby Ruth as they debated how to count it for almost the entire time. We finished on the field and did a crawl bear up the stairs above to many complaints but the crew pushed through.
Part 4: Stair Challenge
With the benches behind them, the PAX moved back to the set of stairs, where the Q had a brutal finale planned. 2 rounds of stair sprints combined with Merkins, LBCs, Squats, Star jumps, flutter kicks, chair dips and more Burpees. Panhandle and Ma Bell commented on some great looking poles. From there, we did a quick Indian run and Splash Pad decided to make it an Indian sprint.
Mary:
The group moseyed back to the starting point with an actual flag (thanks Tinder) where panhandle led us in one last move for 45 seconds.
COT:
In the Circle of Trust the group shared some laughs, lifted up prayers for those in need, named the FNG SacAttack, and closed with gratitude for the brotherhood that F3 brings. We headed to Dunkin from there.
YHC,
