We grabbed a sandy and headed to the football field.
Circle up for a few IC exercises then time to get to work.
We did increasing reps of 10 at each 10 yard, then ran to the far end zone and back to the next 10 yard line.
At the goal line we did 5 burpees, ran to the far end zone (with Sandy) then back to the 10.
At the 10 yard line we did 5 burpees and 10 Lunges (with the Sandy – Kodiak), ran to the far end zone (with Sandy) then back to the 20. And so on.
20 yard line – 5 burpees & 20 presses
30 yard line – 5 burpees & 30 Big Boi Sit-ups (Sandy on the Feet)
40 yard line – 5 burpees & 40 Front rack squats
50 yard line – 5 burpees & 50 Curls
40 yard line – 5 burpees & 40 Back squats
30 yard line – 5 burpees & 30 Flutter kicks (Sandy overhead – Kodiak)
20 yard line – 5 burpees & 20 Shoulder to Shoulder Press (Kodiak)
10 yard line – 5 burpees & 10 Merkin & Drag (Kodiak)
Goal line – 5 burpees & 100 SSH
Once the 6 was in we took our bags to the circle around the baseball fields. We started with 5 presses, dropped the bag & ran to the concession stand for 10 step ups, then back to the bag. We then ran to the next intersection, did 10 presses, ran to the concession stand, 10 step-ups, & back. We did this pattern of increasing by 5 presses at each intersection until we made it to the original entrance. Then we took our bags back to the flag and circled up.
Prayers for all the men handling tough life situations with their older relatives. I will be honest, there were a number of them and since Woodshed joined us it messed me up as to who was asking for prayers.
But while I was standing with this group Saturday, I had the reality set in. Men it seems many of us are entering a season of life where we are going to be facing the inevitable end for many of our loved ones that came before us. This is a hard subject for many of us. I take solace in the knowledge that I am blessed with men in my life that will be there to help me and each other. When the inevitable time comes for all of us to mourn those who came before us, lean into those around you and don’t isolate yourself. The workouts are great, but the men and support are better.
