YHC enjoyed the 2020 IPC so much that I thought I would try to relive a little of it by bringing it the Safari and a mix-match of some of the block work set to some “good” music.
We did a quick mosey at the upper parking lot, expecting to pick up Duggar, but he never showed. He was probably out at Veterans Park, getting some miles in, since he is now a runner! We circled-up, and did the following:
SSHs – 10 IC
Good Mornings – 10 IC
Weed Pickers – 10 IC
Sun Gods – 10 IC
We then moseyed to the light pole about 25 feet from the top of the stairs, where YHC arrived earlier and put up the White Board and some Cinder Blocks. YHC was very nice for doing these, right? On the Board was 10 exercises (below) and the name of the song. The PAX would partner up. PAX A would do the exercise, while PAX B would run down the stairs to the lower parking lot, to the Gym Entrance. Initially the run was to the Flag Pole, but this was not far enough. Once PAC B returns, switch-a-roo! As the song played, you did the same exercise and when the song changed, you moved to the next exercise.
1 – Dr. Feelgood (Motley Crue) – Curls
2 – Burning Heart (Survivor; Rocky IV) – Murder Bunnies
3 – Bang Your Head (Quiet Riot) – Skull Crushers
4 – Jump Around (House of Pain) – Burpee Block Jump Overs
5 – I Stay Away (Alice in Chains) – Overhead Presses
6 – You’re the Best (Joe Esposito; Karate Kid) – Thrusters
7 – Africa (Toto) – Block Windshield Wipers
8 – Up Down (Morgan Wallen) – Curl Presses
9 – Bad Blood (Babyface & Pella Duet) – Alternating Block Merkins
10 – Final Countdown (Europe) – Squats
We were able to get to the last exercise and with time running low, we deposited the blocks in our secret location and got back to Flag right at 6:15am
