This BD was dedicated to Isaac Tang, a funny, smart, well-loved 12-year old boy, who died this past weekend.  He was also the youngest son of some dear friends of ours and one of my son Holden’s best buddies.  While I don’t know all the details of how this tragic accident occurred, I do know that he and his family loved Jesus, and they have the peace that only God can provide during our most difficult moments.

 

WARM-O-RAMA:

Mosey around the tennis courts and covered pavilion and back to flag.  Performed a few warm-up exercises on the tennis courts, including SSH, copperhead merkins, Imperial Walkers, sun god and Michael Phelps OYO.

 

THE THANG:

Started in playground area.

A single round consisted of the following:

Issac — I is the 9th letter of the alphabet –> 9 pull-ups

Tang — T is the 20th letter of the alphabet –> 20 monkey humpers

12 — his age at the time of his death –> 12 heel touches (both heels is 1)

11 — month of his death –> 11 Carolina dry docks

13 — day of his death –> 13 sumo squats

Then, take a lap around the tennis court

2:47 — time of his death –> 24/7 — all the time — no rest until BD is over

Complete as many rounds as possible.

* If anybody yells the word “LETTUCE!”, then everybody stops, yells “LETTUCE”, and does 1 burpee, then continues workout.

This story behind this: One day, several years ago, Isaac was at our house having a play date with Holden.  It was time for lunch, and we made sandwiches.  Isaac didn’t want a sandwich — all he wanted was lettuce.  He just kept saying “LETTUCE” — and that was it.  We all enjoyed plenty of laughs that day, thanks to Isaac.
