9/14/21 – The Buff – Carrying Our Weight

AOR (aka The Thang)

The Warmup consisted of a mosey around the parking lot, followed by some Side Straddle Hops, Imperial Walkers, Sun Gods and Michael Phelps.  The Q couldn’t figure out how to call Cadence at first, but he eventually woke up and started getting it right.  Of course this is the same Q that forgot to bring a Kettlebell to the ‘kettlebell’ workout, and realized 1/2 way to the workout that he didn’t have a flag (oh, and he forgot that the Site Q provides the flag).  Q now realizes that loading up the truck the night before is a great idea, as long as he remembers to load all required items at that time.

Our coupons today consisted of:

‘The Wife’ (aka a log from my back yard that one could throw over and carry on our shoulders.) Nobody knows, or will say where on the weight scale ‘The Wife’ fits.

70 lbs (2 35lbs coupons, one for each hand)

100 lbs (2 50lb coupons, one for each hand)

Then the Q apparently did a lousy job of explaining the workout, but of course, the PAX eventually figured it out and explained it back to him.  Today’s BD consisted of breaking into 2 5-man teams.  Then each team would perform one of the exercises below until one PAX reached the required number. Then that PAX would grab one of the coupons and carry it to the road and back (at least 100 yards away…ok maybe 40).  Interestingly enough, most every PAX grabbed ‘The Wife’ as their first coupon, threw it over their shoulder, and high-tailed it to the road and back.   While the PAX was lugging the coupon to the road and back, the rest of the PAX on his team would continue with the current exercise. After the coupon carrying PAX returned, the entire team would move on to the next exercise.

KB Squats, KB Swings, Halo Lunge, KB Dead Lift, KB Skull Crushers, KB Curls , KB Figure 8s

For each exercise 25 rep for entire team. Then for the non-coupon PAX, continue until PAX carrying coupon is returns.

We cycled through these exercises until each PAX had carried the 3 coupons to the road and back.

 

At that point we wrapped up with a final 2 minute plank.

Prayers today are for all who are facing worldly temptations, challenges, losses and struggles (in other words, all of us).  By asking Jesus into our heart and following his word, we can overcome ANY worldly issue.   Brought it in for a closing prayer and then enjoyed some refreshments.
