It was a beautiful nice warm 36 degrees in tune for startex. Those of us that were either crazy enough to be up on a weekday of no school for Cherokee County, haven’t pushed off yet for our Thanksgiving travels, or are not traveling made our way to the gracious Slab for another beat down.

Staying true to my normal WOR fashion, we quickly got though the warm up of SSH, Weedpickers, Windmills, Zombie Kicks, Sun Gods, and Michael Phelps.

Next we moseyed to the tennis courts for the Thang:

buy in: 50 merkins, 50 BBS, 50 Squats

Exercise: 25 Minutes of EMOM

– run to the other end of tennis courts and back then flutter kicks until the timer sounded for the next round

Cash out: 50 merkins, 50 BBS, 50 Squats

Finished things off by kicking around a soccer ball.

COT

YHC wanted to honor a fallen soldier prior to Thanksgiving as a reminder of those that have gave their lives protecting the freedoms and liberties we enjoy.

Background of Hero:
1LT Derek Hines, who was killed in action on September 1, 2005 in Baylough, Afghanistan, when elements of Battle Company, 1st Platoon and Headquarters Platoon came under attack from enemy small arms fire while searching for the leader of a Taliban IED cell. 1LT Hines continued to return fire against the attacking enemy forces despite his fatal wounds.

Born on July 9, 1980, 1LT Hines is remembered by his Paratroopers as an exceptional leader with a work ethic and competitiveness that went unmatched. His competitive nature translated into a truly relentless motivation to take the fight to the enemy that would consistently distinguish him under fire throughout Battle Company’s deployment.

The workout was designed by Robert Kinney, former battalion commander and a trained coach.

The 50 repetitions of the 3 movements in the buy-in and cash-out commemorate LT Hines time in 2-503 IN, “The Rock.”

Prayers: traveling PAX, Shawshank, Training Wheelz, Eggplant
