So, with an unplanned business trip to Birmingham on Sunday morning and a return around 11.30PM, YHC didn’t have a lot of time to put together a deeply-developed Q. So, what to do? How about 11’s? How about 5 of them? A lofty goal, but 11’s it is!
Started out with a little mosey, followed by the ubiquitous SSH’s, Abe Vigodas, Imperial Walkers and Michael Phelps.
Ran over to the front of the school where the 11’s were posted. The plan: complete a set of 11’s with a shuttle run between the drive lanes when changing from one exercise to the other and then a loop around the entire drive-through area (this is where we lost time as you will see).
The 11’s were:
- Copperhead Squats / Knerckins
- Boxcutters / Speedskaters
- Warhammers / Mountain Merkins
- Diamond Merkins / Bonnie Blairs
- Side Straddle Squats / Travolta Merkins
Paraphrasing General Dwight D. Eisenhower, “plans are useless, but planning is essential”, the amount of optimism that we could get all 5 of the 11’s completed AND run the long loop in between was, well, optimistic. White Claw was leading the pack, and even he wasn’t able to complete the Diamond Merkin / Bonnie Blair segment (we were all there, but WC was definitely 2/3 of the way through it). So, back to the flag we go with about 1-minute of Mary courtesy of Legionnaire. The plan, as it were, was gone in the wind of the beautiful morning God has presented to us.
Prayers lifted for Mary (recovering from heart surgery) and Nathan (undergoing surgery very soon), both friends of Gandhi’s, as well as all of us who are in need.
