Since Highway 575 seems to have made its away to other beatdowns, and this one is kind of similar, YHC and the Q in this case thought it would be good to post a verifiable backblast and open up some competition across the region. The Claw currently has the lead.
The premise was as follows:
- Run a mile
- Assuming the PAX at THJ, elite as it may be, is coming well under 10 minute miles, once the mile marker is hit, each HIM would commence a set of exercises, mercans and BBSU. So say you hit an 8 minute mile, the remaining 2 minutes would consist of AMRAP on the mercans.
- Then you run mile 2, same idea, but this time BBSU for the balance of your 10 minutes.
- And so on, alternating mercans and BBSU per mile, for basically 40 minutes/4 miles.
Objective is to complete as many total reps as possible across 4 miles. White Claw “won” in our instance, completing 300. That will be the benchmark going forward.
It was a challenge, the high count reps in between miles weighing on each subsequent mile time and thus opportunity for more reps. This beatdown was a modification of a rucking beatdown with bag get-ups, but based off of 20 minute segments and not 10 minutes.
We did 3 minutes of warm-up, so we got in 40 minutes of the beatdown with 2 minutes to return to the flag and for a final Happy Jack conclusion.
