YHC wanted to test our rucking pax with the GORUCK Baseline Functional Fitness Test. The words fitness test scared off a lot of pax and only MouseRat and I showed up to crush it!
The test consisted of the following:
1 Mile ruck heavy weight up to 100#
2 minutes of sandbag burpees toss overhead
Suitcase carry ruck and sandbag 200M
2 minutes of hand release push-ups (no ruck)
we got after it as MouseRat had 80# ruck weight for the 1 mile and I had 100#. Once back at the amphitheater we then got ready for our 2 minutes of sandbag burpees toss overhead. We crushed that and then moved onto the suitcase carry and gave a 2 minute break to finish up with the hand release push-ups.
We wrapped up the remaining time by going for a cool down ruck and some great mumblechatter. Talks of life, food, exercise, and how we made the change to improve our health.
I hope to run this test multiple times a year for pax to see improvements!
we closed out with prayer for myself in 2 weeks when I’m in the middle of the GORUCK Bragg Heavy. To give me strength, mental fortitude and the drive to never quit. Prayed for MouseRat, his busy schedule, and the ability to take time for himself for rest.
