In homage to my first ever beatdown, led by Village People, we did a modification of Chase the Rabbit. Same concept but the elf’s “gift” is choosing the exercise at each station

Warm-O-Rama:

During the mosey pointed out checkpoints A,B,C & Home base for our thang. (The airplane, gazebo, coupon depot, and flag for those that have been)

15 SSH’S IC, 10 Copperhead Merkins IC, 10 Copperhead Squats IC, 12 Imperial Walkers IC, 8 Weed Pickers IC, Sun Gods and Michael Phelps OYO.

The Thang:

A fun game of catch the elf. PAX took turns being the elf. Elf’s job was to run to each checkpoint, do the exercise until the other PAX arrived, tell the group the number of reps they completed and then sprint to the next checkpoint. So on and so forth until the elf reached home base.

The other PAX started with an exercise at home base (15 burpees, 20 merkins, 30 scissor kicks, 30 box cutters, and 30 american hammers (all ab exercises were 2 for 1)) and, once finished, sprinted to checkpoint A to then complete the number of reps the elf completed. This was done at each checkpoint until reaching home base.

The elf had the option of choosing an exercise at each station or doing one of the original exercises from that workout a year earlier (Merkins, Squats, BBS, Bobby Hurley’s, and Freddie Mercuries). All the original exercises were performed along with many others of the elves’ choosing. Including but not limited to Hand Release Merkins, San Antonio Shuffle, Bonnie Blairs, Thrusters, Jump Squats, Tricep Dips, LBCs, Coupon Curls, Coupon Overhead Press, Overhead Claps, Single Leg Step Ups, and probably some others YHC forgot in the midst of the pain.

We ended with two aspects of Mary YHC has enjoyed at the Flight Deck, 6 inches led by Blowfish and Yoga led by Downward Dog. YHC demanded 6 inches from Blowfish before proceeding to Downward Dog’s yoga. PAX really enjoyed that request.

We ended in a COT, prayed for various PAX before the other PAX present laid hands on YHC and prayed for our upcoming move to Colorado. We then finished with a coffeeteria provided by the esteemed connoisseur of coffee, Downward Dog himself. Blowfish reduced our gains from the day’s beatdown by also providing donuts for the coffeeteria.
