The Witch is a great place for a ruck beatdown with plenty of room to roam. YHC hasn’t posted there nearly enough to know half of it but thanks to local knowledge we found what we wanted to find today.
My plan was simple. Ruck Big Blue multiple times, play with the Rucking Witches’ homegrown coupons, and do 100 manmakers over the course of the beatdown.
We kicked the BD off with 10 MMs, and hit the trails. I relied on Brimstone to get us where we needed to go, and he led us there unerringly. We stopped on the way to get ten more MMs and then ten more at the trail junction at the top of Big Blue.
The plan was to ruck down the hill and back up Big Blue. The first PAX to get back to the start point would plank while waiting on the second PAX, whereupon they would start doing core exercises while the rest of the PAX finished the loop. Once the six was in, ten more MMs and repeato.
YHC had hoped to complete at least 3 of these loops. But after two loops our alloted time was rapidly burning so we forewent the third loop and after ten more MMs we headed back towards the barn where they keep their coupons. We made a couple more stops along the way for additional MMs.
Once at the barn we collected our coupons and began the next evolution. We paired up in teams of two. One PAX threw their coupon as far as he could while the second PAX did a burpee. Then the team switched. The teams repeated this down to the treeline and back.
We had time to complete one rotation of this evolution. We stowed the coupons back in the barn, hit ten more MMs and headed back to endex. Some of the PAX shuffled while Auntie Em picked up the six.
YHC thinks we ended up performing 90 MMs along with however many burpees we got during the coupon tosses.
Back at the CoT C4 took charge, as he was Qing the Running Witches.
The regulars at the Rucking Witches are some young guns with a lot of enthusiasm. Leading them today made me feel young and old at the same time.
As always it’s an honor to have the privilege to lead!
