Buckets O Fun

Warm-o-Rama:

No formal stretching or Warm up in Rucking. Just put your packs on and let’s roll. Well almost. Pause for Einstein who came fly in on two wheels at 5:01. Thanks for coming out man!

The Thang:

A simple out and back. We set off on our first leg, a 1.5 mile walk that crossed over Main St. and down Towne Lake Pkwy. I later learned that this was the first time any Q had chosen a straight shot down Towne Lake Parkway due to its lack of sidewalks and narrow shoulders . Thankfully it was early with little traffic and nobody died. Continue down to cross under HWY 575 where I was reminded to remember the 6. I am usually the 6 so I haven’t had to give much thought to that before. Thankfully it only took the one reminder. Our 1st leg ended in the Parking lot of Tuesday Morning where we prepared to complete Day 6 of the April GoRuck Challenge. YHC had pre-marked the pavement to allow for easy measurement of 10 sets of the following: 100m suitcase carry (change hands ½ way), 10 Ruck Squats, and 10 Ruck Swings. All Pax completed what I would consider the easiest day of the April GoRuck Challenge with ease. Not wanting the Pax to feel cheated out of a proper beat down and feeling inspired by the Spartan race photos. YHC had conveniently left a 40 lbs. bucket and a 40 lbs. sandbag hidden behind a column. Leg 2 brought us back down Towne Lake Parkway with a few rounds of ruck-on lunges and ruck-on Merkins to await the six. Pause for another set of hidden coupons (40 lbs. bucket and 40 lbs. Sandbag) at the corner of Woodstock Pkwy and Towne Lake Pkwy. Little dog leg to take Mill St. back to Main St. and back to the Amphitheater. We were out of time so unfortunately the dreaded Bear crawls couldn’t be done.

COT:

Thanked God for the continued fellowship of men. Asked for the protection of our kids and family this Easter weekend and that God always keep us focused on the Positive things in our lives.

Naked Man Moleskin:

While I am sure Matchstick received his name due to his profession, I think it is equally as fitting for his ability to produce gas. That guy can clear a room! Geek Squad, those squats are amazing.
Woodstockrucks is really growing. There were only 4 guys on my first ruck with the group and now it seems we are consistently over 10 each Saturday. Thank you to Hooch and Gut Check for the opportunity and courage to lead! Thank you to everyone that came out for my VQ. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
