Intro:
There is no change without discomfort.
Warm-o-Rama:
This being the Flying V, the warmup consisted of a light jog across Main Street to the Noonday Creek Trailhead.
The Thang:
The theme of todays workout was "There is no change without discomfort." This thought has been on my mind lately. It's true of our diets, our marriages, our jobs, our fitness. Everything that we wish to improve comes with a price of discomfort in some way.
That said, todays workout was very uncomfortable. From the trailhead, we headed down Market Street, right on Hickory Street, Right on Paden Street and left onto the sidewalk leading to the Noonday Creek trail, just below the first bridge. Heres where the discomfort began-run up the trail back to Market Street. At the top, each PAX circled back for the six. When the whole group reached market, we rinsed and repeated.
In an excellent effort on everyones part, we managed 6 laps. Mileage totals varied from 4.5-5.1 depending on how much circle back each PAX managed.
COT:
Today we each shared a situation where discomfort lead to a life improvement.
Naked Man Moleskin:
This was a difficult workout. Not for the easily discouraged. I was very impressed with the hard work that each PAX put in today. YHC pushed himself harder than i thought id be able to do today. I'm feeling the discomfort now, but I see the results of my discomfort daily.
On a side note, we may need to rename Gutcheck. He seems to have outgrown(?) his nickname. Tiny Tummy? Abcheck? Thanks to Hooch for pointing this out today.
