Intro:

YHC thought it was going to be cold so put on an extra layer. Bad move. With no wind except the breeze due to my excess speediness, I was running hot this morning trying to keep up with Swamp Donkey

Warm-o-Rama:

Warming up is for sissies…. just RUN!

The Thang:

YHC thought it would be good to get all the way down to the creek so that we can work our way back UP to the starting location. (translation: hills) We set off down Main Street and turned up Ridgewalk to head for Rope Mill. Swamp Donkey and YHC were a bit in front so we ran up the hill at Woodstock City Church for some extra mileage and extra hill work. It was around this time YHC realized the big mistake of wearing an extra layer on the upper body and wearing my heavy gloves. Pulled off the gloves but had to tough it out with extra sweatyness due to extra shirt. Oh well… onward….

As we made our way back down the hill, Gut Check and Beater passed by so we accomplished our goal of keeping the group together. To Rope Mill we go. Coming back up the hill from Rope Mill is no joke. Legs were burning as we passed Kia. YHC tried to yell for Gut Check and Beater to turn around before getting down the Rope Mill hill, but they thought I was yelling at them because a bear was chasing me. Yes. There was a bear. But I beat it into submission with my bare hands and it will be of no threat anymore except for cuddling and pictures with children. He is fully domesticated now. And potty trained.

Swamp Donkey and YHC cut across Ridgewalk and into the parking lot for the outlet mall then circled around again for Beater and Gut Check.

Back in Downtown Woodstock, we circled back again for Beater and Gut check. Going over our allotted time by a couple minutes we managed to get in a full 6 miles. Oops… YHC will try to route the course better next time to finish on time.
