Nothing better than waking up to a nice crisp morning where the temperatures are just above freezing. It is the best time of the year to post because it is cold enough that that a man doesn't get too hot but not too cold where ice forms on a man's beard….

The Thang:

What? the Pax are clothed in sweatshirts, long pants, tights, gloves, hats, and other such items that are really only needed when the temps drop below freezing? YHC posted last night about taking men to the Brink. Seeing the Pax all bundled up made me worried that the Pax would not be able to handle a trip to the Brink. To travel to the Brink a man has to have grit. Grit in the John Wayne as Rooster Cogburn kind of way. Grit in the Earp brothers and Doc Holliday walk down the street to the OK Corral kind of grit. Did the Men of the FLyin V have that kind of grit to make it to the Brink? The only way to tell is to look man in the eyes and stare into his soul. YHC did just that. I stared into each man's sole and asked him without saying a word, "Are you ready?" Each man had a spark, deep down in the iris that spoke, "I'm Ready!" Good thing because its 5:30 and time to mosey.

The very first trip for the Flyin V was down the trail towards Town Lake. We did not quite make it to the end before we turned back. Today we hit the end of the trail in 16 minutes Flat. Plenty of time to go farther. Today YHC is proud to say the Men of the Flyin V made it to the end of the Trail up the hill and around Woodstock HS and Middle School and back down the trail for 5.25 miles with a minute to spare when we reached the Shovel Flag with each man's left eye twinkling "thank you."

Hooch posted at 4:30 to finish the Resolution Ruck today meeting us at StartEx and EndEx. It takes deliberate action to post that early on your own to complete 50 miles of rucking this year. Good Job.
