Intro:
7 brave souls conquered the fartsack on this cold winter morning, and started rookie school. Recruit class 1 of 2019.
Warm-o-Rama:
Quick mosey to bus lanes. SSH, slow weed pickers, imperial walkers, and Windmills. I don't remember the count. My mind was going a mile a minute.
The Thang:
Quick mosey back to the Big Fire Truck aka CRV to gather our gear and equipment. Ruck sacks wear to simulate fire gear and airpack. My gear and airpack combined weigh 59lbs. Not including tools we carry.
Gear consisted of 2 truck tires. 50 foot sections of 1 3/4" hose x 4, 2 wood step cribbing.
The pax was given a short explanation of what CHAOS meant. Cheif Has Arrived On Scene. Then the pax was given 45 min example of the foreground.
The pax we're instructed to carry all the equipment accross parking lot up 2 flights of stairs to double doors at school. The tires were the down Firemen you couldn't leave behind. During this beatdown no pax were to be on their own either. Mixed in were merkins, squats, lunges, air press all to simulate work assignments.
We then took turns bringing all the equipment up and down the stairs. In attempt to get competition going. We broke up into 2 teams. The task was to drag the tire a certain distance. Roll up a section of hose, carry the step cribbing to a spot, roll up an other section of hose and drag tire back. Repeat till all did the course. It was a true Hank Hill beatdown confusion, weird looks, and head scratching. Everyone followed orders none the less, like a true fire scene. 5 minutes to spare we circled around for a few more exercises. (Without ruck sacks) monkey humpers, American hammers, lbc's leg raises.l, Jay lo's. At that point someone off gassed and created a Hazmat scene. Diagnoses was laughing gas leak.
COT:
Auquaman and his M with bringing new child into this world. Our Marriages. Fellow Pax and family members who are sick. Let's remember to lift one another up in prayer thru out the day. Have conversation and make time for the one you serve. The Chief over all creation.
Naked Man Moleskin:
Remember if we are children of God then we are all FireFighters. Who will you save from the flames? How do you train and prepare for what's thrown at you every second of the day. It's a brotherhood don't do it alone.
