INTRO:

It was the last beatdown of 2nd quarter and with all the launching of new AOs around Cherokee it had been too long since YHC had a chance to Q at The Kodiak.

 

As 5:30 hit, we took off on a quick mosey to the middle school parking lot and circled up for a quick warm-up.  I had a lot I wanted to get accomplished during this beatdown, so there may have been a little confusion when it came to certain leg stretches. It’s all about setting a low bar to encourage VQs, right?!?

THE THANG:

One benefit at Qing AOs that are spread out is that you can recycle beatdowns.  As YHC was jotting down ideas, I decided to recycle something I used at The Clinic.  But because I know the Kodiak HIMs are a special sort, I wanted to step it up a bit.

 

Animal 11s: YHC set out 2 rows of cones about 10 yards apart. Burpess on one end, mountain climbers on the other.  To really turn up the intensity, we crab walked to the burpees and bear crawled back to the mountain climbers. This is guaranteed to pretty much kill all mumble chatter, although I will say Swisher was working to keep things light hearted.

 

Next, we moseyed to the far side of the middle school parking lot because we were going to need a lot of room.  YHC created a mash-up of 2 favorites (Lt. Dan and Mucho Chesto) that YHC likes to call the Paraplegic. Standard 1:4 ratio on Lt. Dan, but after each round, we knock out 15 reps of Mucho Chesto.

 

In total, here’s what we got done:

55 mountain climbers

55 burpees

55 squats

150 merkins

220 lunges

100 yards each of bear crawls and crab walks

 

There wasn’t too much time left, so I ditched my ideas for a finisher (there’s always 3rd Qtr), and we moseyed to the flag for some Mary.
