Intro:

YHC was a little unsure on what the numbers would be like this morning with Pelosi’s VQ down the road at The Kodiak, but after arriving early to do some recon, I saw two headlamps speeding around the track, unless these were some guys Coon Hunting. It turned out to be Matchstick and Aquaman getting in some miles before the beat down! Good to go!

Warm-o-Rama:

We started our mosey in front of the playground and headed toward the rock pit to get our Rock Babies for the event ahead. We then circled up in front the Homeless Veterans Memorial and did the following:

Toy Soldiers – 15 IC
Weed Pickers – 10 IC
Imperial Walkers – 10 IC
Michael Phelps – OYO

The Thang:

The plan was to do 11’s of the following, but going from the Memorial to the end of the parking lot, next to the Turf Field Concession stand. The rock babies were with you the entire time. The first exercise was done for 10 reps and the second for 1, and 9/2, 8/3..always totaling 11. The plan was for the following four rounds:

Round 1 – Curls/BBS
Round 2 – Ginuwines/Merkins (alternating hands on top of rock; left and right = 1 rep)
Round 3 – Skull Crushers/Lunges
Round 4 – Squat Thrusters/Twist

After Round 1, YHC realized this was taking longer than expected and called an audible. For Round 2, the distance was split in half and everyone finished-up with just enough time to take the rock babies back to their home.
After putting the rock babies to bed, we got back to the playground just in time for a minute of crunchy frogs led by Earhart!

COT:

F3 Cherokee has a lot going on and a lot of expansion. We discussed the new ruck boot camp (Safari), the new Northern AOs, and the new Southside AOs. We also discussed the Travis Manion Ruck this Sunday, the Armed Forces 5K on 5/18, and GrowRuck. Check out Slack for more info.

Naked Man Moleskin:

YHC had a great time this morning and it was nice having Aquaman, Matchstick and X-Files back out for the Monday Hurt Locker. We had a great group this morning and each of us pushed each other. Earhart’s rock baby was about twice the size of YHCs, and still pretty much lapped me during the 11s. Aquaman continues to kill it and still shows up at these beat downs, even with a new born at home. When my first child was born, I gained about 20 pounds and only left the house to go to work! TClaps to you! It was also good seeing Matchstick out who ran over to the THL from his house. I hope that he made it back home and was not attacked by the pack of Coyotes over on Jack Page Rd. Also, enjoyed seeing X-Files back out at THL. He was a regular toward the end of last year, but a work schedule messed that up for him. Glad to lead you HIMs this morning in the gloom. Rest Stop out!
