Intro:
YHC has been sick as a dog since the New Year started and was looking to get back into the gloom with everyone. With my first Q of the New Year and hoping to get the Monday Hurt Locker off to a good start, YHC wanted to keep up all the momentum going from last week’s beatdowns, rucks, etc. Let’s do this!
Warm-o-Rama:
We did a long mosey, around the playground to the rock pile and found Scully a nice rock at the rock pile. We then proceeded back to the flag to pick up our Ruck Plates, and to the parking lot next to the new Homeless Veteran Memorial that is currently being constructed. Here, we circled up and did the following:
SSH – 11 IC
Weed Pickers – 10 IC
Imperial Walkers – 11 IC
The Thang:
With YHC still learning the ropes, I wanted to do something simple, include some running to stay warm, and push each of the PAX. With a ruck plate (or rock from the rock pile) in hand, the PAX did 100 Ginuwines (you know the song “Ride it..that Pony”), 200 Press, and 300 Curls. After 50 reps, take a lap around the parking lot. Each lap, just under a quarter of a mile. Each PAX finished with about 5 minutes left and just under 3 miles put in. We moseyed back to the rock pile so Scully could deposit his boulder and then back to the flag for a couple of rounds of Mary.
At the flag, Yogi lead the PAX in a round of Gorilla Humpers and Carmen San Diego finished it off with some Monkey Humpers, finishing right at 6:15am.
COT:
Prayers for Pelosi’s mom and family, Thrasher’s upcoming surgery and Zillow’s M and family. Prayers for my Grandmother whose long fight against an illness ended last night. Prayers for those unspoken needs for everyone in F3 Cherokee.
Wreath clean-up event tomorrow, Resolution Ruck, F3 Softball, and an All Ruck workout this Saturday. See Slack for all these and other events.
Naked Man Moleskin:
It was pleasure leading the group this morning and the start to a New Year! The 30lb Ruck Plates sucked. By number 15 of the Ginuwines, I was already feeling it. Maybe I should have played the song and it would have made these easier ?? I’m sure Bloodhound has the CD. All the PAX really pushed each other. Babyface, Yogi and Bloodhound killed it, like they do every Monday. Scully has now become a Monday Hurtlocker regular and he made the right choice by not going to The Wicked Witch this morning. YHC enjoyed the mumble chatter with Carmen San Diego as we were doing all the laps! Looking forward to VQing with him this quarter.
The Hurt Locker has so many options from the trails, to the football field, to the lacrosse fields; it is a great place to Q and enjoy a Beatdown. Looking forward to Qing here in the coming weeks! Good work everyone!
Rest Stop out!
