Intro:
YHC stumbled across a free pile of plates, dumbbells, and bars for F3Cherokee Coupons. Created stations of pain using those and some jump ropes. Mix in the bluegrass music and we are Pickin & Grinnin with Coupons.
Warm-o-Rama:
Mozy down the bus lane, and circle up on far end of lanes. Cadence SSH, weed pickers (Q is winded… gotta stop eating out so much), Annie, Air Squats.
The Thang:
Q had lined up 8 stations of coupons with recently acquired dumbbells and plates across bus lanes, more PAX showed so incorporated additional jump ropes, and body weight slots to provide a circuit of stations. Each PAX does the exercise listed on a winkie (curls, shrugs, lat raise, front raise, snatch, skull crushers) along with jump ropers, burpie, air squats, and merkin stations. Upon, as OddJob put it… the spirit moves you… Q would announce transition to next station. All the while listening to some favorite bluegrass tunes from Q. Flatt & Scruggs, The Osborne Brothers, The Dillards, Ralph Stanley, and Bill Monroe.
Once PAX does full set of coupon work we set out on a next stage of some lower body run work. Lap around bus lane island, broken into segments between light poles. Sprints intermingled with lunge, high knees, butt kickers, and duck walk. Then back into the coupon stations.
Two cycles through that then load the coupons back into the truck. Back over to the flag area for Mary started with Guantanamo, then PAX calls flutters, copperhead merkins, american hammers, shoulder taps, etc. Mary went a little longer than ideal, but we finished it.
COT:
Prayers for Olivers moms foot issues, new Sat BD at Hobgood including recon BD, 6th man gives us encouragement to seek hearing aids if legit hearing loss is an issue for PAX.
Naked Man Moleskin:
Weather is turning more Spring like… sky was blue by the end of COT. Larger numbers are showing up, than previous weeks… maybe it's not me. Providing a fresh, hard workout is the goal, however the challenge w/ coupons is making split decisions as PAX grows in the last 2 min before 5:30a. Believe you have time to finish a circuit/routine because a long Mary is mumble chatter heaven. No hard core bluegrassers in this bunch.
