Intro:
My VQ has arrived thanks to Chops and his clipboard. YHC knew this would need to be a good one. With all my music critiquing, that would need to be the first order. After that, the goal would be to plush the PAX to its limit. Victory would be a splash of merlot, but deep down would be me remembering everything and not opening myself up to mumble chatter.
Warm-o-Rama:
Gotta start on time, the strike of 0530, longer than anticipated mosey began the warmup. Down to the dumpster and back to the flag. Circle up and it began. SSH x8 – slight mumble chatter from Odd Job for not saying in cadence. Next up Windmills x 8 and then showed the pax goofballs x 8 and mountain man poopers x 9 – wanted to stop at 8, but got lost in my own head. Had anticipated calling for some nancy kerrigans but YHC was worried about time as he had a big Q planned. Also to note, the PAX does not enjoy a variation from normal warmups and let it be know with their mumble chatter and moans.
The Thang:
The thing was Millenials. YHC has marked out the length of a football field with cones and had the PAX line up in what would be the enzone and make sure they had room for activities. i think we all just became best friends and were about to get sweaty. YHC set up the music and we began with Panic at the Disco and 100 SSH. Once a member of the PAX completed 100, yell GO and the PAX sprints the field length and back. Plank for the six, six is in and recover. Next up 100 LBCs. At this point it made evident that YHC did not purchase the premium spotify as we were inundated with 2 ads as we started LBCs. This Beatdown has been sponsored by the new Marvel movie! Hit 100, and go! Back, plank, six is in, recover. The music was pumping now and we was about to get drunk on a plane and as we started 100 Shoulder Presses – these went quick and we were off. Back, plank, six is in and recover. YHC peaked at his weinke and tried to keep it subtle. No need to get harassed on your VQ. This was a rough crowd and YHC feared Pie Bar or Blackhawk might see the bright pink paper YHC used for visibility and his aging eyes. We moved to 100 Bobby Hurleys and so began the mumble chatter and calls for modification as we hit @55. Music moved to a Metallica cover of turn the page and we wrapped at 75 and went 100 yards and back. YHC was pleased as we hit the halfway of the 10 step millennial routine with dying cockroaches. I think the pax was happy to get down on their six. Second half the routine was monkey humpers x 100, american hammers modified to 50, cockroach resurrection x 75, imperial walkers x 50 and finished big with sweat angels, it was a bit of blur – but think we got to 50+. Now the fun begins. YHC had 2 song routines and was happy to be getting them started at 0605. First up was Flower by moby. Start with lying on ground, flat on chest, hands released. green sally up, merkin to up position, hold till you hear green sally down and down to 6 inches. This is a great song, great movie and a miserable exercise. Only thing kept me going was thinking of dred locked Angelina Jolie! About 2 minutes into the song, I saw we had a half dead PAX. We pushed on another minute and YHC felt the burn. We ended a few seconds short and moved on to the final act. Chumba Burpees to Chumbawumba, tub thumper. SSH during the entire song, BURPEE when you hear “i get knocked down.” this proved to be harder on the PAX then i thought and they seemed to run low on gas as we pushed thru 27 burpees. We had about 5 minutes left for mary – circle and up and realize we have PAX that are confused by the principal of Mary. Called on wolverine, he shouted mountain climbers x30 and then went silent. pie bar and YHC took over the count, tried for 30 and audibled to 20. next up dry rub, who again shouted an exercise and then went silent. more LBCs and stop. pop up then too had a case of erased memory and called for flutter kicks with no cadence. YHC shouted it out and then Piebar called for what I think were Capt Thors which hurt bad and then oddJob called for monkey humpers with 180 seconds left. YHC audible to ring of fire monkey humpers and we did 5x each pax while the remainder held air chair. Around the horn and when we got to YHC, called out 14 bumpers and we hit 0615 an thus the thang had ended.
COT:
Circled up and we prayed for Wolverine's neighbor who suffered a stroke and will be starting her recovery journey. After some discussion and announcements (wartowne, ruck opportunities and future expansion) YHC brought the PAX in tight and thanked god for everything. YHC had felt the presence of god and let the pax know he is there for all of us, when we least expect it. Prayers for our families, those home and traveling. Final thanks to our father in heaven and AMEN.
Naked Man Moleskin:
90 days in to F3 and LuckyCharms has completed his VQ. Lions Den is my home and I am thankful to all those that EHed me, brought me into the COT and have been there with me, by my side. With my family out of town this week and me missing a family vacation, I have been committed to seeing other PAX and am so overwhelmed with the brotherhood that surrounds all F3 members wherever we go. I look forward to 2019 and what lies ahead. As for the VQ, it was quick, dirty and a BLUR. Leading is hard work. I planned it, practiced it, practiced again and then got 3 hours sleep and it dropped with the most excellent of F3 playlists.
