Intro:
We weren’t cold for long……….
Warm-o-Rama:
It was a brisk 26 degrees when we kicked things off. We started off with a quick mosey around the parking lot. We circled up and started things off the same way we always do, with the Side Straddle Hop of course. A few other warm-ups to get the blood moving and then on down to the football field where we lined up at the goal line.
The Thang:
The first half of the beat down certainly had an "upper body" theme. Very simple instructions: bear crawl to the 10, 10 Merkins, bear crawl to the 20, 10 Merkins, bear crawl to the 30, 10 Merkins…… You get the idea, rinse and repeat for the full 100 yards totaling lots of bear crawling and 100 Merkins. Scissor kicks kept us warm as we reeled in the six. Then onto a leisurely Indian run around the track to cool down and then we reconvened on the goal line again as we had to make our way back from whence we came. The PAX partnered up and we switched off doing wheel barrows to the 25, switch, to the 50, switch, 75, switch, and took it home to the 100. Back up to the parking lot work the legs. We paired up again for a little Bernie Sanders drill: one partner runs up the hill backwards, while the other is knocking out squats. Rinse and repeat until we collectively reached 100 squates then same drill with 100 lunges. Now that are legs were on fire we ran around Dean Rusk to cool down. We grouped back up for a plank exercise with Merkins (because we needed some more Merkins). We wrapped up with a little Side Straddle Hop 21 drill which we failed. Penalty: Merkins. Started off freezing, ended up steaming. Mission accomplished.
COT:
PAX through out some prayer requests for new job opportunities, marriage struggles, and some health concerns for some of the other F3 PAX.
Naked Man Moleskin:
We wrapped up as always with prayer and thanks and a little wisdom that marriage is not a walk in the park, if anyone says it is they are lying. It can be and is struggle at times, but it is worth the fight. Marriage is submission competition. Good VQ for me. Next one will be better.
