Intro:
The Happy Jack always delivers, especially when Easy Mountain is involved and its trademarked “burpacides” are modified into play.
Warm-o-Rama:
Long mosey around the soccer/LAX fields for a quick circle-up of weed pickers and imperial walkers (10x each). Then onto the outer track to make our way around to the bottom of Easy Mountain. Naturally, Cody enjoyed a gallop through his eponymous Pond as the PAX passed it.
The Thang:
At the drain, the standard Easy Mountain starting point, we commence what this QIC and YHC referred to as Lucky 7's. Basically, the PAX conducted burpacides up and down Easy Mountain. The specific suicide postmarks were the (1) mile marker post, (2) the trash can, and (3) the sign/chain. The sequence went as follows: 1 burpee, sprint up the hill to the post, 2 burpees, back down the hill to the drain, 3 burpees, then sprint back up the hill to the garbage can, 4 burpees, back down the hill to the drain, 5 burpees, then sprint back up the hill to the chain marker, 6 burpees, and back down the hill to the drain, 7 burpees. MSG and YHC picked up the six, whereupon the PAX collectively conducted another 7 burpees, completing our Lucky 7 challenge. Burpacides are wretched creatures, and Easy Mountain is a passive-aggressive miscreant that unlawfully teases its slope.
The PAX then moseyed back up Easy Mountain and around the entrance circle carrying on to the right along the road and down to the playground benches. We've already hit 2 miles, with 25 minutes to go, that's a good pace. Now partner up for a set of derkins (d'ercans), urkins (u'rcans), and "eastern European" squats (none of the PAX could recall the precise name, guesses ranging from Romanian to Siberian to Russian among others; basically one foot on the bench, and each HIM conducts a one-legged squat). AMRAP through each exercise while the partner hustled to the Armed Services flag and memorial and back.
Finally, with 10 minutes to spare, the PAX hustles back to the road and up to the back corner of the park for some more Lucky 7 action, this time down and up Goode Mountain way. With two minutes to go, the six was picked up for some final burpees, and then a quick sprint back to the flag, 3 full Happy Jacks, and time.
COT:
Prayers for sound minds that are open to the Word, that we might take Him into our lives and community and places of work and most importantly homes and families.
Naked Man Moleskin:
For those doing the Mercan challenge, counting each push-up off the burpees combined with the d'ercans and u'rcans, YHC estimates the PAX completed approximately 154 mercans.
