Intro:
Let’s go, while the rain is holding off…OH WAIT – there comes Law Dog…
Warm-o-Rama:
It was cold. It was misting rain. There was no warm. There was no rama… just a 9+min mile opening
The Thang:
Just showing up today meant you are a solid HIM looking to get stronger and faster while doing a little chatting on the road. Never mind the Cold Rain (man I love Google, enjoy some Japanese hardcore, you're welcome), let's go.
Knowing numbers were going to be iffy, I was able to recruit an Alpha/Wreck Pax to join. Being that Beiber is Canadian, he laughs at 37 and rainy thinking "when will the heat wave end." Kidding…he was the only one to complain about being underdressed. Having had Law Dog HC last night, we waited on him. And waited on him. As we start off, what does the 2 man formation see coming…the LD coupe. Now there are 3. YHC recognized this treo will push the pace and need hills, so we head to the Outlets. Next, we cut over to the Knoll – slayed the hills. Now the rain picked up, good thing we have headed back anyway…right. No, let's turn the corner at Arnold Mill for a Hubbard loop to get one last climb.
The 3 nailed 5.56mi at an 8:26 pace – Nice way to start a Tuesday!
COT:
Sounds like Thrasher is on the road to recovery, prayers for healing to continue and clear results all around.
Naked Man Moleskin:
Love seeing the explosive expansion in Cherokee. Guys are showing up, EHing others, and it is incredible to see. Having just started the second month as co-Q with Beater at the Flying V – trying to get numbers here is sometimes discouraging. However, the recent runs of 2 or 3 pax have proven some of my favorites. No matter the pace, the fun in the run is the talking and getting to know each other, finding out what is really going on. It is pretty incredible how grinding miles together opens men up to sharing and supporting. The whole "iron sharpens" thing works, as long as there is more than one piece of iron… come join us – there is fun for everyone!
