Intro:

Humble Pie Recipe: 75 degrees (Legionnaire can convert to Celsius if you ask nicely); 95% humidity; 7 PAX of the highest caliber; 1 clown car; 1 spring break injury; 1 hiking injury; a little fuzzy math, and general soreness from wicked Monday beatdowns. Punish the above ingredients with over three miles, bropees, and other assorted workouts for 45 minutes. Then let sit for 25 minutes of gourmet coffee freshly percolated on site.

Warm-o-Rama:

We preheated with: a long mosey that made Babyface ask if YHC learned "warming up" from Legionnaire (post @ THJ Thursday for more on this) 20 SSH, 15 Imperial Walkers, 10 Weed Pickers, and a short mosey down the hill to the entrance of the AO to get things started.

The Thang:

The Thang 1: Bropee Hill. Partnered up, we ran up the hill (two light poles shy of the bridge) and executed 12 bropees. Planked for the 6. We ran down the hill to the starting point and executed 11 bropees. We repeated this reducing by one rep until we were down to one bropee at the bottom of the hill. Quick mosey up to the building for the Thang 2.

The Thang 2: 11s with Donkey Kicks/BBSU and Dips. We started by the wall near the flag with 10 Donkey Kicks. Then we ran (using the "racetrack" in the parking lot) to the start of the guardrail for 1 Dip–then a run to complete the racetrack back to the wall. As one would guess, the recipe would call for 9 Donkey Kicks, then 2 Dips. But in YHC's world, 10+2=11. HIMs were quick to fact-check me and get back on track. We audibled out of the Donkey Kicks into BBSU due to the mulch terrorizing we were engaging in. Halfway through, we gave AYG back to the flag for 5 minutes of Mary (American Hammers, Hello Dollys, Iron Cross, and Flutter Kicks)

COT:

Praise God for our ability and availability to get after it;
Gave thanks for Christ's sacrifice and our resulting relationship with Him;
Prayers for Dixie Chick and relational healing with daughter and the healing of his shoulder before the race;
Prayers for Floppy's Uncle Dave who is experiencing a serious heart condition; and
Promise Ring–wisdom as he heads out of HS and into college.

Naked Man Moleskin:

Humility was in the air from the moment I arrived at the AO. I thought I was early when I saw Babyface jogging in the parking lot. I saw Promise Ring had a knee brace on, so I thought I would give me the rare chance whip him during the beatdown—wrong was I. Wilson & Dixie Chick were absolutely getting after it although they were recovering from ailments–no quitting from these guys (good work)! Big thanks to Babyface for making the trip even though he had to get rolling right at 6:15 to start the day. This felt like a punishing beat down and our RESPECT crew (Floppy & Legionnaire) looked like they could have rinsed and repeated the whole thing! It makes you wonder what they are doing in that clown car (stem cell injections?). It appeared max effort was given by all–that means we will all look like Matthew Mccaunehey soon.

The antidote for many of our struggles is HUMILITY. Jesus set the bar for this–He was a King sent to serve! So crazy right?! What would it look like for us to practice humility daily? Not only would this bring healing to many of our struggles, it is part of our testimony. Humble pie was just what I needed today. Thanks men!
