Intro:
Happy Jack’s originally scheduled Q, C4, had his plane diverted to Savannah late Wednesday night. With no certainty as to whether C4 would ever return to the ATL, YHC was honored to Q Happy Jack as a proxy for C4 this morning.
C4 even had his beatdown planned, typed and ready-to-share via the magic of Slack. (I should have asked about the backblast too!)
Warm-o-Rama:
Long Mosey to the track behind the LAX fields…
at the first bench… IC 10X WeedPickers, Quad Stretch, Runners Stretch.
Continue to Mosey along the track to the high point at the back (Above the LAX fields), at this point, Homeboy led IC 10X Hillbillies. SunGods OYO, forward and reverse. Mosey down the hill to the low part of the track.
The Thang:
Doing our best to follow C4’s instructions…. we continued to mosey past the football field down to the back hollow / low point of the track. From here, we did “11’s”: Up and down “Easy Mountain” with burpees at the bottom and lunges at the top. (Easy Mountain starts at the low point going up the hill to the rock pile/gate with a chain). It didn’t take long for Easy Mountain to begin taking its toll and inflicting pain. Mumblechatter was limited, as we were all too winded to talk. Due to the distance (up and down Easy Mountain), about ½ way thru, YHC shortened the distance due to time concerns, but somehow, I think that only made it harder. I believe we set some kind of record today for the longest 11’s. GPS says we exceeded 4+miles going up and down Easy Mountain. Everyone finished the 11’s and time expired on the way back to the flag.
C4 also had a nice Cooper planned for today, but that will need to wait for another day.
T-Claps to Homeboy and Manning who led from the front, pushing an impressive pace.
COT:
Prayers for Yogi’s daughter, Faith. She broke her arm playing 4th grade basketball at Avery. Get well soon Faith!
