Intro:

YHC was looking forward to this morning’s beatdown since I thought it was going to be a little warmer, but once out at The Hurt Locker, YHC realized that 36 degrees is still a little chilly. With it being the morning after the Super Bowl, I thought our numbers might be a little low. I pulled into the parking lot a little earlier and Baby Face was already getting his miles in and Bloodhound was in his truck, so I knew we had at least 3! YHC did a short mosey to count some parking spaces, do some recon and by the time I was back to the flag, we had 8 total PAX. Not bad for 5:30am, the morning after the Super Bowl.

Warm-o-Rama:

We moseyed around the Turf Field parking lot and circled up and did the following:

Goofballs – 11 IC
Weed Pickers – 11 IC
Imperial Walkers – 10 IC
Michael Phelps – OYO

The Thang:

In the football field parking lot, we started with a Parking Line Plank Indian Merkin Run. The PAX got on a parking line, planking while the 1st HIM did 5 merkins, then sprinted to the front of the line, jumping over the planking PAX. We continued this until we got the last parking spot in front of the concession stand. Bloodhound did take out Carmen San Diego, but Carmen survived. Something to do with payback from their 12-mile ruck yesterday.

After a short recovery, we moseyed around the concession stand patio, down the path to the field, toward the stands and back up the stairs to the concession stand patio/tables. Next, The Cooper. We did 10 rounds of Burpees, Squats, and Merkins. After each round, we did a lap, using the same route of our mosey. After the lap, we did 9 Burpees, Squats, Merkins, then a lap, all the way down to 1 of each, and a final lap. The PAX knocked these out quickly! Next time, YHC will take Misty’s advice and include an abdominal exercise

With a lot of time left on the clock, we moseyed down to the turf field and did the following:

1. 100 yard dash to opposite end zone, complete 100 SSHs, backwards run back to the goal line (starting point). All the PAX did these together.
2. 75 yard dash, 75 Mountain Climbers (rubicon count), backwards run back to goal line (starting point).
3. 50 yard dash, 50 LBCs, backwards run back to goal line (starting point).
4. 25 yard dash, 25 Merkins, backwards run back to goal line (starting point).
5. 10 yard dash, 10 Burpees, backwards run back to goal line (starting point).

With time remaining, we did DMCs. We Duck Walked to the 10 yd line, did 5 Merkins and Crawl Beared back to the goal line. Duck Walked to the 20, did 10 Merkins and Crawl Beared to the goal line. At the 30 yard line, with time running shorty, YHC called an audible and scratched the Crawl Bear to a mosey back to the goal line. We continued this to the 50-yard line, increasing the Merkins by 5 every 10 yards, finishing just in time for the mosey back to the flag.

Arriving at the flag with 2 minutes to go, Misty paid tribute to his favorite In Living Color dancer with some J-Los. Bloodhound took us to 6:15am with a round of Burpees! All done!

COT:

We discussed this past weekend’s convergence and its success. Carmen San Diego pointed out for the PAX to share via twitter and other social media its success. Babyface reminded everyone about the upcoming launches of The Buff (2/12) and Castle Black (2/19). Check out Slack for more information. Prayers for Bloodhound’s oldest daughter and prayers for Thrasher and Venna (FIA) as they recover from surgery.

Naked Man Moleskin:

In total, we did 105 merkins and so good advice, do not google merkins. I think we all spell this wrong! It was pleasure again leading The Hurt Locker this morning and welcoming Law Dog in with the regulars! Earhart and Scully continue to kill it on Mondays! It was good to see Carmen out as well after doing his 12-mile ruck yesterday. You had a great excuse to fartsack, but faced the gloom anyways. Babyface, Bloodhound and Misty continuing to be beast at every beat down. I am still waiting for that day where I can keep up with them without having a heart attack.

Finally, I believe it was Quagmire that mentioned in one of his backblast how Q’ing has helped him. It has given me more confidence. My biggest fear has always been public speaking, even though I have to do it regularly at work. By leading a group of men that are depending on you, it has made public speaking a lot easier. Some are naturals. I am not. I now do this with more confidence. It also helps with leading a team at work. Read the F3 website, attend the QSourse Meetings. If you are unable to attend the meetings, join the QSource Channel in Slack. There are plenty of opportunities to Q and if I can do it, anyone can. There is plenty of support here in F3 Cherokee to help you take that step!

Rest Stop out!
