Intro:

Gut Check was in, because he is obsessed. Then he was out, because I said “you’re gonna hurt yourself”. Then he was back in, because Jungle Love HC’ed and didn’t have any gear. And so, “in” he was. And off we were.

Warm-o-Rama:

YHC was the last one to arrive at 0519; geared up with rucksacks, headlamps, reflective bands, and a pep talk.

The Thang:

Route: From Dupree Park lot, west down Neese Road, then left to begin our first "circle" (more of a zaggedy blob). Left on Arnold Mill and Washington, through the Driftwood subdivision and back out to Arnold Mill. [In Driftwood: Counterclockwise makes for a 1000 foot steep downhill. We'll reverse route sometime soon for the climb.] Left on Neese Road; "circled" through the parking lot again for the the completion of "circle" #1. Then we proceeded eastward on a short piece of Neese, turned left on Park Place, and followed it along our inner "circle" to Arnold Mill and left on Neese again to the parking lot. Passed a sweet elderly lady walking her dog and did our best not to startle her. She admitted she did not know what was going on when she saw our headlamps and thought to herself "are those deer?" By my inference and imagination, apparently there may be a small herd of deer in the Dupree park area who come equipped with headlamps. So be on the lookout, men.

COT:

Since we finished the 5 miles at 4 minutes to 7, and since Jungle Love and Westside are healthy horses and love pain, they scooted before we circled up and joined in the Chatterbox boot camp. Gut Check led us in prayer, and we thanked God for His abundant mercy and grace.

Naked Man Moleskin:

A circle inside another circle is called a concentric circle. We all have a circle of influence and interaction. In fact, we have several concentric circles. The outermost circle includes everyone we encounter, from our family at home to your kids teacher, to your neighbors, to the waiter at Las Palmas…. There is an innermost circle of people whom you love and trust deeply – usually 1-5 people. And it's often easy to identify a "middle" circle of people that are closer than the last person who waited your table, but not in that inner circle. One of the joys of F3 and the fun challenges of life is expanding that middle circle to interact with and influence people in a greater way. Who is God bringing closer to the middle of your concentric circles lately? Are you intentionally serving them? Do they know they can trust you?
