Intro:
What’s harder than a 5k? A 5k with weights! YHC has been meaning to hit up Happy Jack for a while now, but I’ve been, you know raising a 5 week old and staying in my comfort zone. Thanks to Legionnaire challenging my manhood, (AND then not showing) I decided to attend Happy Jack. There was no one signed up to Q so why not jump in with both feets and challenge myself twice.
Warm-o-Rama:
No FNG's but 4 virgin THJ posters. With the pressure to live up to the standards, YHC created handouts with instructions for the pax, not knowing if we were just going straight to the beatdown or warming up, last minute warm up was kicked off. Mosey around the parking lot with high knees, but kickers, backward runs trying to avoid Duke and bursts.
The Thang:
Three stations with almost a mile loop. Split into 3 teams with a coupon at each station and progressing reps of exercises.
Disclaimer if you need to modify it is 25 burpees and pax squats while waiting.
Station 1: Tried to take over Fia with Barbell with 95 pounds
5 Thrusters
10 Shoulder Press
15 Dead Lifts
Station 2 Kettle Bell
10/20/30 KB Swings to the Top
Station 3 Dumbbells
15 Happy Jacks
30 Curls
60 Merkins
Everyone finished up all right before 615 with completing just over 3.15 miles
COT:
F3 Cherokee is doing really special things and I annoy the crap out of my M talking about it all the time, but I love this group and everyone in it.
We prayed for Chitwood, Swisher & Thrasher and I held back my harsh words for cancer.
Naked Man Moleskin:
Doubtfire was the sixth man, major tclaps raising 4 kids, 3 triplet 16-year-old boys! He lives on my street and they haven't destroyed anything so very impressed!
