Intro:
Fences are just another obstacle. That’s what the PAX would soon discover as they rolled in this windy Wednesday morning. A few surprise PAX visited us in the gloom this morning and we even had an FNG. Let the games begin…
Warm-o-Rama:
Took a lap around the entire park and then circled up for the real warm-up
15x SSH
10x Windmills
10x Copperhead Squats
The Thang:
For those not familiar, the C.L.I.M.B is a routine from the exicon and YHC modified it a bit for the Clinic boys. An 'S' was added to the end AND the PAX would have to jump up the fence and box jump up the stadium stairs to get to the top of the mountain. This made things a bit more interesting. Especially after YHC realized the stairs were roped off. The routine would be performed 5x with increasing counts each time (Math is hard). The exercises were:
C – Crab Cakes (1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
L – Lunges (Kodiak Count) (2, 4, 6, 8, 10)
I – Imperial Walkers (Kodiak Count) (3, 6, 9, 12, 15)
M – Merkins (4, 8, 12, 16, 20)
B – Big Boy Situps (5, 10, 15, 20, 25)
After each cycle was completed, the PAX would run to the fence and jump up it. Then they would box jump up the stadium stairs to the top of the mountain and perform the 'S'
S – Star Jumps (6, 12, 18, 24, 30)
After performing the Star Jumps, the PAX made their way down the mountain and, again, over the fence back to the starting point. YHC incorrectly yelled out Big Boy Situps at the start instead of Burpees so the routine was completed faster than expected. Oh well, YHC just rolled with it and we can always make time for more Burpees…..
The Burpee Relay
Thinking quick, YHC had the PAX divide into 2 teams. One team would be uneven, but no matter. The instructions were simple, line up on the 2 sidewalks facing each other. One the command, exercise, the PAX would assume the plank position and the PAX furthest from the stage would start the relay. The PAX would run to the middle, perform 10x Burpees, and then run back to tag the next man in line. You were competing against the other team, so speed was the name of the game. Since the one team had 7x PAX, they sent 2 PAX on their final leg. Team 1 wins the first round. Time to spice it up.
The Merkin Relay
Rules similar to the first round, except all the PAX were holding Air Chairs and on the command, exercise, they would run to the center and perform 25x Merkins. Once complete, the PAX would take a lap across the stage and then back to their group to tag in the next PAX. Speed was, again, the name of the game. Matchstick had a little directional problem so Team 1 pulled ahead early.
MAJOR props to Dizzy and Homer for this. Both PAX were absolutely crushing it this morning.
Still time for more games…..
PAX, PAX, HIM
Everyone knows the rules of Duck, Duck, Goose and they were the same here. One PAX chooses the 'HIM' and then the 2 of them take of running around the stadium. First one back chooses the exercise for the loser. Both PAX get a 1 round reprieve from being chosen again. YHC didn't think this one through when it came time to run for the 2nd time. Great showing by Manning who smoked Drumstick in this which was a huge shocker. Also, the Tiny Tat/Mandals match up was pretty epic. Last round complete and it was 0615, great work!
COT:
Name-o-rama, 6th Man (Matchstick), FNG Naming (Oscar), Praises, and Prayers
Naked Man Moleskin:
Great showing out there this morning men. The FNG spent almost the entire COT over the trash can so that counts as a win in my books! In case some of you missed the sidebar conversation between Manning and Drumstick during the naming of the FNG, it was priceless. Drumstick wanted threw out the name 'Squirty' because he was a fireman and Manning's response was "Yeah, let's go ahead and put that one in the back pocket". It was hard to focus on anything else. The testimony from Matchstick was strong, love you brother. He is a great example of what makes F3 so great. Reach out to some of the PAX that haven't been posting lately. Men need F3 more than they realize.
Prepare for the Stopwatch VQ next Wednesday. SYITG!
