Intro:
I promise we won’t do any burpees… unless you count the desconstructed kind. Oh, and bropees.
Warm-o-Rama:
Short mosey to the bus lanes. Circle up for a quick warmup.
SSH (IC) x 15
Hillbillies (IC) x 15
Sun Gods (OYO)
Michael Phelps (OYO)
Runner’s Stretch (OYO)
The Thang:
Up the River, Down the River – Partner up. Run down to the stop sign. 10 Bropees. Run back up to the bus lanes. 9 Bropees. Continue until 1.
Good work… quick 10 count. That was the warmup for our next exercise.
Starting at bus lane 1, run to lane 15 and complete 15 deconstructed burpees (15 merkins, 15 mountain climbers, 15 squats). Run back to bus lane 1.
Rinse and repeat for lanes 14 down to 1. Now the PAX are really feeling it.
Somewhere through the morning Westside complained that his hand were hurting from not having any gloves. Actually, he may have even been whimpering, so we moseyed back by the flag so he could pick up some gloves.
15 minutes left, time for a Bear Crawl Ring of Fire. All PAX circled up and bear crawled until YHC called “Down.” Everyone holds plank while each PAX completes 10 Merkins individually. Done, resume Bear Crawling. “Down,” each PAX takes turns completing 10 Diamond Merkins. Done, resume Bear Crawling. “Down,” each PAX completes 10 Incline Merkins on the curb. Finally, each PAX completes 10 Decline Merkins on the curb. DONE. 10 straight minutes in Bear Crawl or Plank position. Shoulders are screaming.
3 minutes left… MARY!
J-Lo’s (IC)
Box Cutters (IC)
Monkey Humpers (IC)
Time. Great work.
COT:
Since we only had 5 PAX, we tapped Silverado as our designated 6th man. Prayers for Gut Check’s travel.
Naked Man Moleskin:
My M challenged our family to no-device Mondays (after work and school) during the season of lent, so I wasn’t able to prepare for the Q the night before. Initially, I was a little stressed, but I pulled from all the excellent Q’s and the morning brought plenty of pain.
Takeaway: Commitments are worth keeping… no excuses. It would have been easy to say I needed my device so I could prepare. Or it would have been easy to say I can’t Q because I haven’t prepared. The hard work is honoring my word… no excuses. You guys push me to be a better man.
