Had one more exercise planned, but nerves kicked in and YHC blew right past that… oh well, on to The Thang
The Thang:
First up: Elevens
YHC's first Vineyard beatdown began with this exact exercise, so of course it had to be included. The PAX were given two exercises, box jumps on wall and derkins with feet on wall, to be completed in groups of eleven. 1 Box Jump, 10 Derkins; 2 Box Jumps, 9 Derkins… so on and so forth until 10 Box Jumps, 1 Derkin.
Next up: B.L.I.M.P.S.
PAX moseyed to the parking lot in front of the H.S., where each of the six light poles serves as a marker for an exercise. PAX performed each exercise, in suicide fashion, spelling out B.L.I.M.P.S.
B – burpees 5x
L – lunges 10x (kodiak count)
I – imperial walkers 15x (single count – YHC made this way too easy)
M – merkins 20x
P – plank jacks 25x
S – squats 30x
Start at first light pole with 5 burpees, sprint to the second light pole, 10 lunges, sprint back to first light pole.
5 burpees at first light pole, sprint to second light pole, 10 lunges, sprint to third light pole 15 imperial walkers, sprint back to first light pole.
Continue adding one letter of the word BLIMPS until PAX reach 5 burpees at light pole 1, 10 lunges at light pole 2, 15 imperial walkers at light pole 3, 20 merkins at light pole 4, 25 plank jacks at light pole 5, and 30 squats at light pole 6. Sprint back to first light pole and plank until the six is in.
Quick 10 count.
As a side note, I know Drumstick is a beast, but he "finished" about five minutes before everyone else, so YHC is pretty sure he either can't spell BLIMPS, or can't count… maybe both. In either case, YHC sent him on a wild goose chase for my phone, which had been left somewhere in the area of the Warm-O-Rama. His mission was successful.
Finally: B.O.M.B.S.
Similar to Dora 1-2-3 but more exercises, B.O.M.B.S. consisted of Burpees (25x), Overhead Press (50x), Merkins (75x), Big Boy Sit-ups(100x), and Squats (125x). Partner up. PAX 1 does exercise while PAX 2 runs 1 lap out to the fourth light pole and back. Continue alternating until all exercises are complete. Because of time, YHC called it at 6:13 for a quick mosey back to the shovel flag, arriving exactly at 6:15 (almost as if it were planned that way).
