INTRO:
Not all pax will always Happy Jack, but when they do it shall be with courage and faith to accomplish a feet that will challenge a man’s mental fortitude. A boot camp with 4 miles of running is not for the faint of heart.
WARM-O-RAMA:
We ran to the other side of Veteran’s Park and completed 4 rounds of Happy Jack. No other exercises needed.
THE THANG:
Mosey to the hill on by the front side of the park. From the quarter mile marker run to the top for 3 burpees, back to the marker for 10 Kodiak count American Hammers. Completed four rounds.
Mosey to the tennis courts for Four corners in the grass field. Run the corners always facing north with 2, 4, 6 burpees at the 3 corners with to iron flutter kicks at the 4th corner. A flutter kick while arms out. As you raise your leg, bring the opposite arm to the foot. 6 inches for the 6. Rinse and repeat.
Mosey to the LAX fields. Suicide run around the light poles staying on the outside. There are 3 light poles down the right side of the LAX fields and 3 on the left side forming a giant rectangle. Run to the first pole, 1 merkin (official spelling), back to the start for 10 LBCs. 2nd light pole for 2 merkins back to the start for 10 LBCs and so on until all light poles hit. Finished where we started.
CIRCLE OF TRUST:
Prayers for all of those in Florence’s path. Pray that people are safe and take advise to evacuate. Praying for all our F3 brothers in the area as well. Its good to know that no matter what, F3 guys in that area are stepping up. If you want to look to help, Haha (Alpha region) is working with his church to have a team ready to go help with the recovery efforts. Reach out to him if you are interested in helping.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
- The Happy Jack is quite the beatdown. Veteran’s park has enough terrain to keep this interesting. It is an awesome way to push yourself and build your endurance and increase your pace.
- I know this is a big surprise but Dandy clearly was made for this style beatdown. The Q just needs to tell him where to next so he can run check it out and comeback to report to the six and then run back to the front and so on until all Pax are accounted for.
- Big Props to Twiggy making 3/4 posts this week after his FNG day on Monday. Took on the Wicked Witch and The Happy jack in his first week. Impressive. He clearly liked the light pole suicide because he has already planned it a punishment for his lacrosse teams when they don’t listen.
- Legionaire mumble chattered the whole time and clearly sandbagged because he went back out to put in another four. Maybe it is the lack of oxygen but I heard him say but those are 100 yards apart and referenced running 4 more miles. Finally he is starting to speak American.
- Rubicon Count/single count = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. Kodiak Count – (each side is the same) 1 1, 2 2, 3 3, 4 4, 5 5, etc. In cadence/4 count (each movement is counted) – 123 – 1, 123-2, 123-3, 123-4, 123-5, etc. Got it?
- Woody rock solid as always. He brought his head lamp out but as we disappeared into the darkness he never turned it on. Gloom is Dark, but Dark is Light for F3 Pax.
- YHC reached out to the water cooler talk to ask about starting at the playground. It is our usual meeting spot at Veterans Park and since the FIA ladies parked at the Football field last week, we HIMs wanted to be respectful and give the FIA ladies their space. We were informed by one of are regular FIA’d that would be great, no wait they usually park at the playground but sometimes park at the football field when they work out there. Clear as mud. Were we just FIA’d? We do want to be respectful, so maybe we should park at the Tennis Courts except for days FIA works out there? So just drive around until you see dudes.
