INTRO:

Heading into a week off work, had a late night last night at a friend’s party that involved a wine tasting.  I kept things to a minimum, but was still concerned there might be a literal merlot spill this morning.  With about 4 hours sleep, I was excited to meet Chitwood who was coming to visit us Southsiders with a promise of his famous brisket.  That’s good enough to get me up and out this morning…

WARM-O-RAMA:

Mosey’d up to the parking lot in front of the smaller hill at the high school.  Circled up for SSH, Weed Pickers, and Windmills.  Yes, my warmups are un-original.  Deal with it.  Quick warmup and onto the first routine…

THE THANG:

Started off with 11s at the hill.  Burpees at the bottom, broad jumps up the hill, and merkins at the top.  10-1, 9-2, 8-3, and so on.    Got the heart rate up quick and PAX started shedding layers.  Called mary waiting for the 6.

Finished up and mosey’d over in front of the high school.  Next up was a sprint loop with exercises each quarter lap.

  • 50 SSH, 25 merkins.  Sprint quarter lap.
  • 25 big boi situps.  Sprint quarter lap.
  • 50 squats, 25 carolina dry docks.   Sprint quarter lap.
  • 25 flutter kicks (kodiak count).  Sprint quarter lap.

That’s 1 round.  Rinse and repeat. This is AMRAP until YHC calls it.   Great work on this boys!  A few PAX were on round 4 and most close to finishing round 3 when YHC called it around 44:00 to head back to the flag.  Reached the flag a bit late at 46:00 and circled up.

CIRCLE OF TRUST:

Beater was the 6th man – the guy loves Christmas lights and was already out this past weekend getting them strung up!  Prayer requests for Trill’s mom and aunt, both having surgery today at the same hospital.  Prayer requests for Spock’s friend whose father is close to passing away, and also the little girl battling a tough road of recovery.   Reminder of the flag football convergence at the paragon this Thursday.  Closed it out in prayer.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Great start to a week off of work for me, wouldn’t have it any other way!   It was awesome to have Graffiti and Chitwood down for a visit.   The brisket lived up to its reputation, man, that stuff was amazing.  Chitwood even brought the foil and gave me a to-go package.  Can’t wait to scarf the rest down later!

38 degrees isn’t so bad when you’ve got dry ground and no rain, a much welcome change from last week.  Keep up the great work fellas, every time you post you are making yourself better and the men around you.  It’s worth it!
