INTRO:

A great day for a beatdown with the cool morning. 8 PAX and 1 FNG appeared in the gloom of the parking lot where we huddled around the flag. YHC gave the intro to everyone before we took off because we were going to be moving!

WARM-O-RAMA:

A quick mosey to the edge of the parking lot underneath the lonely light pole for a quick warm-up:

20x SSH
10x Windmills
10x Weed Pickers

After we were stretched out it was time to get the blood pumping. The Vineyard is not short of light poles so it only seemed fitting to do a Route 66.

THE THANG:

Event 1 – Route 66

YHC switched it up a bit and had the PAX do the Route 66 with Big Boi Situps. The PAX would start at the light pole that we were already under a perform 1 Big Boi. The PAX would then sprint to the next light pole and perform 2 Big Bois. This would continue until the PAX reached the practice field. The final count on light poles for today was 10. After a quick 10-count, we lined up on the practice field for the next event.

Event 2 – Sprints

The goal was simple. The PAX would lie down on their backs, feet facing the opposite side of the field, hands above their heads. One the command ‘exercise’ the PAX would get up and sprint approximately 50yds and then perform 10 merkins. After completion the PAX would walk back to the starting line. Once all PAX had returned to the starting line we would rinse and repeat. This exercise was performed a total of 6 times. Another quick 10-count and it’s on to the main event.

Event 3 – C.O.M.B.S

Having promised the PAX that we would not be doing any bear crawls or burpees, YHC had to think quick on what exercise to replace the B in B.O.M.B.S with. B.O.M.B.S became C.O.M.B.S and we were off to a good start. This, however, was not just any old exercise. It was OYO and it was broken up with a little cardio for good measure. The breakdown is as follows:

C – 25x Crab Cakes
Sprint to other side of field
O – 50x Overhead Arms
Mosey to other side of field
M – 75x Merkins
Walk to other side of field
B – 100x Big Boi Situps
Sprint to other side of field
S – 125x Squats

Once completed the PAX held plank while waiting on the 6. At this point we were all a bit water logged from the moisture on the field, but it was refreshing because we were all drenched. After the 6 came in the PAX performed a last quick 10-count to catch their breath and then it was time to head back to the flag…..the long way.

Final Event – Indian Run

Nothing special here, we lined up in 1 line and the 6 would sprint to the front of the line. The only caveat was that we took the long way back to the flag so we added a bit of distance to it. With just over a minute to spare when the PAX made it back to the flag, we had time for a little Mary.

One round of flutter kicks while watching the FNG to see if he was going to merlot and then we recovered.

CIRCLE OF TRUST:

Name-o-rama, 6th man (Mouth 2 Mouth), FNG (Live Action). Directed the PAX to the website for all upcoming events and closed out with a prayer.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

We may be a smaller group of guys, but we are a solid group of guys. The Vineyard is only 2 weeks old and it already feels like a veteran AO. I challenge each of you to not only push yourselves each morning, but to push those around you as well. We are stronger together, always. Appreciate the inspiration from Wild Thing for the FNG. We were all struggling a bit with that one.

Kudos to whoever named ‘Swamp Donkey’. I lost it after he said his name in the Name-o-rama. The Vineyard remains un-christened..still. Looks like next week we might have to step things up a bit. Back to the drawing board.

In the meantime, keep EHing your fellow Sad Clowns and lets make this the best AO in the region.
