INTRO:

This plan was weeks in the making! Recon, securing coupons, trial and error and all for this moment. YHC showed up extra early to place the acquired coupons and see just how many PAX were drawn in by the superior marketing. I will confess that in all my planning I failed to realize that the starting point for THJ was down by the canopy near the football field, but the PAX got the hint (except for Legionairre who was doing his own thing somewhere) and we all circled up near the park. Handed out the maps and formed the teams and it was time to begin!

WARM-O-RAMA:

The goal was to get to 101 burpees so what better way to start than with…you guessed it, burpees!

6x Burpees

Once the teams were comfortable with their next destination (terrible map reading combined with a terrible map made for an interesting start) then they were off!

THE THANG:

The goal was to complete 8 obstacles scattered all over the AO using the map that the teams were given during the warm-up. The total distance the teams were to cover should total just over 3.1 miles. The obstacles were as follows:

Station 1 – 100 yard low crawl (you guessed it. Army crawl or roll across the length of the football field)
Station 2 – The Fence Wall  6x (wall jump over the fence 6 times)
Station 3 – 15x Burpee Box Jumps (Do a burpee and box jump onto the benches near the playground)
Station 4 – The Fence Wall  x6 (wall jump over the fence 6 times)
Station 5 – Sand Bag Drag / Bear Crawl Drag (pull the sand baby tied to a 30 foot rope to you. Once complete, bear crawl push the sand baby back to it’s original position for the next PAX)
Station 6 – Sand Bag Carry (carry a sand baby around the loop near the bathrooms)
Station 7 – 2x Sand Bag Carry (carry 2 sand babies straight across the field to the light post and then come back. Roughly 75 yds)
Station 8 – 30x Burpees

Finish point was at the flag and the fastest teams came in just under the wire. YHC was in the group with the FNGs and they were moving pretty well for showing up at THJ for their first beatdown. The last team came in with seconds left and…complete!

CIRCLE OF TRUST:

Name-o-rama, named the FNGs, praises and prayer requests. The FNG info was gathered (appreciate it Legionairre) and submitted.

Great marketing this morning in the COT from all the PAX. These FNG’s got a big ‘ol dose of just what makes F3 amazing. Some of them even seemed to be interested in the Ruck this Saturday. Look out for these guys on a Slack channel near you!

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Today was a blast! This is what F3 is all about. We had fun, worked as a team, and there was great mumble chatter along the way. Nothing ever works out exactly as planned, but that is half the fun. I’m sure others were thinking it too, but I noticed even more that can be added to this beatdown. Definitely look forward to a repeat in the future.

The most amazing part was the collection of PAX that showed up this morning. We had participation from all over the region from Woodstock to Jasper. The 3 FNGs were just icing on the cake and they all seemed super enthusiastic about F3. Look forward to those boys coming out with us again.

Until next time…SYITG
