INTRO:
Rolled up to the site ready to work this morning. Â Normally Mondays are the worst, but I was up for the challenge.
After warning the PAX (via Slack, Gracias a CS) that gloves would potentially be needed, I was interested to see which of the guys would have them. Â Everyone came prepared! Â I have frequently heard during my Qs “I should have brought gloves.” Better to be prepared than not.
5:30 came and it was time to get this party started.
WARM-O-RAMA:
Courtesy of Mouth-to-Mouth we moseyed at a nice pace around the parking lot, up and down some stairs and then back to where we started for the following:
20 SSH IC
10 Weed Pickers in slo-mo
Sun Gods OYO
THE THANG:
Warmed up and ready to go, we started with a Route 66 featuring Flutter kicks. Â Route 66 took us on a different path today. Â Instead of the usual increase of one rep per marker I decided that starting with 5 and increasing by 5 every time would be a much better idea. Â After 10 light poles and 275 flutter kicks we ran towards the stadium because it was unlocked after all. Â I decided to pick up the running pace because “why not?” Westside made sure to ask who it was that said my mosey/run pace was slow. Â You’re welcome M2M.
We made it to the field and lined up on the goal line for The Cooper: Squats, Burpees, and Merkins in descending reps. Â Our running point for the first 9 sets would be the 50 yard line and then for the last set we ran to the opposite goal line before finishing up the exercise.
Running out of the stadium we found a good place to do some dips and Rocky Balboas. Â 20-15-10-5 of each and then we were done. Â Made it back to the starting point for some Mary to finish it all up. Â American Hammers, Box Cutters, LBCs (good choice Westside), Dying Cockroach, and a timed Elbow Plank hold finished our morning.
CIRCLE OF TRUST:
We circled up and shared a few things on our hearts and minds especially for our fellow brothers around the region who have some hurts and concerns. Â Shouldering up I closed us out in a prayer.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
As someone who needs community, F3 has continued to be a source of strength and joy. Â Knowing there is a community of men who support one another in the gloom and in every area of life, brings me serious encouragement. Â Many of us would have never crossed paths but because of our common goal to be better men in every aspect of life we have aligned our lives to support one another. Â I am so very grateful for you all whether we know each other or not.
