INTRO:

Happy Jack is a place where the PAX can really push the running pace while throwing in exercises just to keep it interesting (i.e. make it harder).  Today, we were lucky to have many of Happy Jack regulars present and considering this was my first Happy Jack Q, my goal was to make sure we lived up to the Happy Jack’s high standards.

THE THANG:

Starting in the parking lot, we ran across the grass below utility buildings and above the grass fields. Once on the path, we ran uphill toward the back of the park.  At the high point behind the football field, we stopped to complete 15 burpees. Staying together, we quickly started running downhill toward the low part of the path. Now that our heart rates were pumping, it was time to ‘Take the Hill.’ We made a hard right off the path, climbed the dirt embankment (some using all fours) and ran across the frozen tundra to the parking lot.  Once back on asphalt, we dropped and completed 50 LBCs. Keeping a brisk pace, we quickly headed off to complete the same lap, this time adding an additional stop for squats and dips on the bench.

In total we completed 4 circuits:

Running: ~ 3.2 miles

Squats: 3X25=75

Dips: 3X25=75

Burpees:4X15=60

LBCs: 4*50=200

And somewhere around the 3rd lap…

but what to my wondering headlight should appear

but a tiny frenchman in his Subaru reindeer.

With a little old driver, all dressed in business flair,

I new in a moment it must be @legionnaire.

And he whistled and shouted and called them by name:

‘On Manning, On C4, On TitleMax and LawDog!’

And then he was gone… Dash away Dash away… um, yea, whatever.

After the 4th lap, to close it all out, we all laid on our backs and on the count of 3 got up and sprinted as hard as we could back to the flag.  Tclaps to TitleMax and C4 for really turning on the jets for this last sprint.

CIRCLE OF TRUST:

LawDog reminded us there will be opportunities to help take down the lights after Christmas and New Years.  Continued prayers for the Creekview family and especially those directly impacted by the car accident.
