INTRO:

This QIC often receives e-mails from Spartan Race on exercises or routines, and recently one came across the iPhone that featured a full routine with approximately 15 minutes of running tied to various exercises.  Omitting the pull-ups that the routine called for, and modifying a bit with the use of our beloved sandbabies, this QIC felt he had the makings of a truly comprehensive beatdown.  The rest of the PAX can comment whether it did not disappoint.

WARM-O-RAMA:

Grab a baby out of Bloodhounds truck, and mosey to the practice field behind Creekland Middle School [Incidentally, whoever filled the baby this QIC happened to select was let’s say a bit overzealous; had to be 50 lbs with no slack in the fabric].   Circle up at center midfield for:

  • 10 weed pickers
  • 15 Imperial Walkers
  • 10 Monkey Humpers

THE THANG:

Grab your baby and head to the far sideline, the darkened half of the field (with the bright lights from the Creekview Football field at the Kodiak casting a full shine over all, it was appropriate we made our way back into the heart of darkness gloom).  The beatdown would consist of three sets, each featuring a sprint across the field and back to start, a bear crawl to the middle of the field to end, and two rep-exercises of 30 and 15 respectively with your baby in between, all followed by a lengthy jog back across the field, up the stairs, around the circus maximus (the Bus Circle), and back to the sideline and each PAX’s respective sand baby.  The three sets were:

Set 1:  sprint, 30 mountain climbers Kodiak count, 15 sand burpies, 25 yard bear crawl, circus maximus run
Set 2:  sprint, 30 overhead baby presses, 15 baby copperhead squats, 25 yard bear crawl,  circus maximus run
Set 3:  sprint, 30 Homeboys (with shirts on), 15 baby BBSU, and then 15 switch lunges, circus maximus run [*note added the extra 15 switch lunges to yield the full Spartan 150 reps].  In this case, upon returning to the field after the circus maximus run, bear crawl across the entire 50 yards to the sideline and your baby.

Grab your baby, and mosey (euphemism for effectively a hike for most) back to the flag

3.5 minutes of Mary:  15 LBCs, 15 flutter kicks, 15 crunchy frogs, 20 J-Lo

Preacher mentioned St. Aidans in Milton hosting a fight against hunger sandwich drive this Saturday from 9-11 with the objective of making 20,000 sandwiches in the fight against hunger.  This QIC mentioned the high intensity beatdown planned for east Cherokee county on Thursdays at Veterans.
