INTRO:
So my back has been feeling a good bit better lately so i decided to do something a little different than what normally goes down at The Clinic. I wanted to throw everybody off from their norms. The more you throw your body and mind curveballs, the better you will be at handling them, mentally and physically.
Therefore, todays beatdown was going to involve covering a lot of territory thoughout the vast AO that we have in downtown Woodstock. I was a little nervous though if we had anyone that needed to modify the run. But i decided to stick with the plan.
WARM-O-RAMA:
As we stretched and chatted before Startex, the stillness of the gloom was interrupted by the crunching sound of a skid plate scraping over, and then reversed over, one of the handicapped parking curbs. Ah, probably just an elderly swimmer hitting the Aquatic Center for some geriatric laps…. but much to our delight, out from the lil car pops Quackers’ smiling face. The mumblechatter got fired up from the get go. He quipped that he is perhaps a bit mentally challenged, and we were off.
We took an extended mosey over to the Chat Tech parking lot. On the way over, I reminisced with Hooch about the time when Manning had us mosey over to this parking lot and i almost died while we were over there working out.
30 SSH in cadence, SpaceBalls complemented YHC on his beautiful cadence rhythm, just to SpaceBalls liking.
10? Weed Pickers, and, to suck up to SpaceBalls a little more, I counted cadence extra slow.
Time to Mosey
THE THANG:
Todays beatdown had us mosey all over the place, to all kinds of random places. Throughout the mosey beatdown we would ramdomly pause for either 50 merkins, 50 LBCs or 50 squats. We also got in a couple laps on the stairs, sometimes skipping a stair, sometimes hitting every stair, and sometimes hopping up every individual stair(this one really got the mumble chatter going strong). We continued our mosey through the Hedgewood Neighborhood across Arnold Mill Road behind PURE. SpaceBalls was concerned for the sadclowns who were still sleeping (how dare they sleep in the middle of our AO!) None the less we ATTEMPTED to use our inside voices while in the neighborhood, this got some laughs. We then made it to the railroad tracks for some planks on the tracks while we took turns hopping over everyone in the line x 2. I was quickly reminded that this was a very dangerous exercise but also very difficult. We then took a long mosey back to the park for a couple rounds of MARY. We totalled today out at 2.82 miles, all while doing exercises and staying together as a PAX. Great job men!
CIRCLE OF TRUST:
Grylls obviously loves his 2.0s a lot and expressed his difficulty with being away from them for extended periods of time and is still trying to get used to it. Brother, my M and I struggle sometimes being away from our 2.0s for just a night or two, I cant imagine being in your situation. The PAX will be praying for you to continue to deal with this hardship in a way that builds you up.
GutCheck asks for prayers for his M who has been struggling with being sick for a week or so and is also trying to be successful in school.
HankHills 2.0s basketball coach has a wife that is dealing with health issues and having sugery so we ask for prayers for that.
BandCamp has a student that lost his mom, so I ask that the PAX lift that child up in prayers to find comfort and love. Also pray that his father has the strength to carry on.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
Men, there is so much needing prayer just within our small organization. I challenge you all to also consider the endless amount of wonderful blessings that God provides us with as well. I also challenge the pax to start looking at these prayer needs and intentionally praying for your brothers in the gloom. Lets lift up our fellow HIMs!
Here are some words that we should know as Men and HIMs
DURABILITY: The state of physical and emotional toughness that is fostered through deliberate exposure to Hardship and Chaos.
HARDSHIP: Suffering caused by intense Adversity
CHAOS: Uncontrollable circumstance.
