INTRO:
Like
a lot of HIM’s the last few weeks, it was time for YHC to finally step up and knock
out his VQ by the end-of-the year. I have so much respect for the Q’s that lead
us through these workouts, and to be truthful, I was intimidated by leading a
group of HIMs that I have met over the last 3.5 months. It also helped that
Baby Face needs a break every now and then Qing the Hurt Locker each Monday! After
he and Bloodhound did the Spartan this weekend in Tampa, he needed somewhat of
a break.
After
being nervous all week and looking back at a number of Hurt Locker BackBlast,
it was time to knock this thing out! The plan was to do something simple, keep
the PAX moving in the gloom, and not screw up!
WARM-O-RAMA:
After
a long mosey to the parking lot of the skate park & pickle ball courts, we
circled up and did the following:
SSH
– 13 IC
Weed
Pickers – 13 IC
Imperial
Walkers – 13 IC
THE THANG:
With
me looking for a theme, I went with my favorite number 13. I was born on Friday
13th and no one ever wanted the #13 during sports, so that has always been my
number.
The PAX
lined up and we did 13 Burpees, Squats, and Merkins, then ran a lap. After the
lap, we the would perform 12 each of the exercises and run a lap. Then plan was
to get all the way to 1 of each exercise, do a final lap and complete 14 final
burpees to finish at 105. Unsure of how long this would take when planning out
my VQ, we took up all the time and I needed to do an audible to be sure we
knocked out all the burpees to meet the daily challenge. A number of PAX did
finish the entire 13 exercises, extra burpees, and the laps! Great work for those Beasts!
With
not much time to spare, we did the long mosey back to flag just in time for Bloodhound
to lead us in Flutter Kicks, ending at 6:15am.
CIRCLE OF TRUST:
Prayers
for Wingman as he deals with his back injury. Prayers for all the PAX on the DL.
Many
events! Lights of Hope, 2.0 Ruck this weekend, Wreath Laying event, Cherokee
Challenge, Parties, etc. Check out 2nd-F on Slack.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
It
was pleasure leading the group of HIMs this morning in the doom and gloom! You
all have helped me grow as a Man, Husband and Father since I started F3 in
August. Your friendships and leadership mean a lot and I am proud to be a part
of such a great group! I also plan to buy some shoes in the next few days since
I lost the sole of my shoe after the first 13 burpees. Sorry Dixie Chick for
the “flopping†sound on my laps around the parking lot! My VQ is done and as
they say, “you never forget your first timeâ€!!
