INTRO:
This is late, I know. I’m calling a mulligan on a holiday week.
Labor Day morning was rough for YHC. I was in Jasper at my in-laws and the night before ate some Mexican Lasagna for dinner that had me in night sweats for most of the night. With a 4:15am alarm, YHC was feeling pretty rough, and my morning’s greatest achievement was just making the drive to the Kodiak while staying awake.
With it being a holiday, numbers were low, but it was a good time to get to know a fewer newer PAX, and it was time to return to the stadium! The changeover from grass to turf has been a long time comin’ and it felt great to be on the field, track, and bleachers once again.
WARM-O-RAMA:
We moseyed to the stadium and circled up on the beautiful Kodiak logo in the middle of the field for an extended warm-up

THE THANG:
We moved over to the track for a Merkin Mile. Â Partner up and head in opposite directions on the track. Meet your partner on the opposite 50 yard line. If you arrive before your partner, plank and wait. On the home side, complete 15 Partner Derkins (PAX 1 plank, PAX 2 place feet on his back and perform a Derkin). Â On the visitor’s side, perform 15 Pattycake Merkins. Just to be sure this wasn’t too easy, we did 20 Walking Lunges at each end zone.
The PAX did a brief amount of Mary as we waited for the six, and then moved to the Metal Mountains to finish off our legs.
Metal Mountain 11s: Jump Squat at the top, Mountain Climbers at the bottom. After the first trip up, I was already feeling sorry for Chitwood and Slim Shady who were headed up to Amicalola Falls later that day, with Chitwood knocking out those stairs with a kid in a backpack no less!
CIRCLE OF TRUST:
YHC was the 6, so I took the opportunity to discuss how I have benefitted from F3 and emphasize to the newer PAX that if we’re only doing this for ourselves, we will burn out. F3 is about the man next to you, and the man who has not yet posted. Growth and change energizes us!
Naked-Man Moleskin:
Technically, this was Old 96er’s 2nd post. He inadvertently walked into the middle of our 12 Labors event on Saturday. He arrived just as we finished our Heavy Ruck as we moved to 50 burpees. Â His first question, what’s a burpee? Needless to say, he definitely bit off more than he could chew that day. He had to leave early to get to his 2.0s cross country meet, and we were wondering if we would ever see him again. He was named after John Candy’s character in The Great Outdoors, who also bit off more than he could chew, when he took on the Old 96er.
